For sure. Just don’t stumble around blindly and step too close to one and make it feel threatened.

I don't have a problem with them, just the venom that they use to kill their prey.

Thanks Mark.
It was very hot that day, about 100f, but I did manage to get out of the air conditioned comfort of the car, and then get on my knees on the hot desert sand to compose the shot.
All the while keeping vigilant for snakes and scorpions.

So I think I figured out the mystery of the t-shirt.
I too had entered a photo in the Pentax Photo Gallery contest, but had forgotten it, as I was suddenly unable to log in, somehow my user name and password had become invalid.
So there you have it.
Anyone who has a Pentax Photo Gallery can enter one of their contests (limited to residents of North America), the current contest is astrophotography.

I am so excited about this I am posting it everywhere.
Has anyone else got one sent to them?
This t-shirt showed up in my mailbox today. No note inside the envelope, and I had no idea it was coming. I don't mean to be unappreciative, because it is cool they elected to send one out to me, even in my size, but I really want the hotshoe cover.

Well the colors look a bit more saturated, but as I mentioned, the atmospheric conditions were different on the morning I shot the scene with the A lens.
So, I am going to take another swing at comparisons, shooting comparison images at the same time, on the same day. Hopefully that will make the comparison more objective.
Stay tuned . . . . .

I recently picked up an A28mm f2.8 to see if there is much difference from my Sigma 28mm f2.8 Mini Wide. All three shots made with the K-1, ISO 3200, f5.6, but the Sigma shots were 1/10 second, the A28 at 1/30 second, and at about the same time of day (actually night, or early morning), but different days. I suppose the best comparison method would involve shooting all the images at the same time of day, on the same day, rather than spread out over a couple of months. The first two were shot last May, a week apart, with the Sigma, the third one (with the A28) was shot yesterday. All three shot hand held.
I also tried to shoot from the same spot, but again, having done the shots at different times, it is impossible to get each shot framed the same. Also, I was in my pickup for the two with the Sigma, at a much higher position than the shot with the A28, shot from my Subaru Legacy wagon, quite a bit closer to the ground.
I tried to keep the post processing the same, following my usual mild adjustments in Photoshop. There was some fog in the shot with the A28, and it can be seen reflecting the high pressure sodium lighting. That may have skewed the colors a bit, I think.
I'll have to go back and shoot it again, both lenses at the same time.
Anyway, here they are. 777-9X Static Test Tool by Racer, on Flickr 777-9X Static Test by Racer, on Flickr 777-9X Static Test by Racer, on Flickr
