A series of shots made throughout the day in June, 2011, while driving from Limon, Colorado to Snowville, Utah, about 660 miles.

A thunderstorm rolled through here last night. I set up and patiently tried to get some pictures of lightning.
But.
The clouds were so low that the lightning was mostly in the clouds, and only lit the clouds up. Keep in mind it was after 9pm, and quite dark. The shadows of my house from the light on the shop can be seen across the yard, and lightning had illuminated the scene.
I feel like I got robbed. Electrical Storm by Racer, on Flickr
I did get one shot of the lightning, and it looks like it hit a tree on the neighbor's property. Electrical Storm by Racer, on Flickr

Pinhole lens play.
Can't decide if I like the sunrise with more red, or the one with more blue. Created about one minute apart, the blue one was made first, at 08:40:31, the red one was made second, at 08:41:27. Frosty Sunrise by Racer, on Flickr Frosty Sunrise by Racer, on Flickr

It really comes down to customer preference, kind of like Ford vs Chevy.
Excellent explanation.

I worked second shift most of my working days. 3:30 to 11:30 at the power company fixing trucks for most of my 30 years there. And the last 3+ years at the World's Largest Building has been the evening shift. I liked it, the commute is an anti commute. I drive to work when everyone else is driving home. And going home is always nice. Little traffic.
And I would go straight to bed when I got home, and usually woke up around 7 am.
It was like having the day off every day.
But I managed to get transferred out to the spar shop, and after a couple of days they said I would be working the day shift (5:30 am to 2 pm).
I asked what if I don't want to work days.
They said I could go back to the job I had inside the World's Largest Building.
So I said I would be delighted to work days.
But I don't really like the hours. I have to go top bed at 7 or 8, and get up at 2:20 and leave by 4:15. No time for doctor or dentist appointments, as I'm learning a new job package and it is taking extra hours each day to finish.
The overtime is nice, makes for big checks, but I feel like I did when I was driving a truck locally. Always working.
The sun doesn't come up until about the time my first break is. Once inside the shop, I don't go back out until it is time to leave for the day. And as mentioned, I haven't been getting done with my day until after the sun has set.
It feels like living above the Arctic Circle, especially with the cold snap we have been having.
I finally saw the sun today, I managed to get my daily load finished by 2:30.

Sunrise here today is around 7:50 am.
You work the evening shift?
Since going to day shift my day starts at 2:20 am. Shift start is 5:30, and first break is at 8 am.

Been hotter than usual inside the World's Largest Building the last few days. I think someone is concerned that the smoke is not good for airplanes or something.
