Awesome shots there Dewman. I have one that I'm trying to repair. Problem is that I am hardly home and I have the Cosmicar(like you).

TAMRON | Tamron Discontinued Products List
The above link lists Tammy discontinued lens. Mine is a 2002 model. Couldn't find a AO3S but there is a AO31 which is a 28-200..a 2010 model. Compare the info in the middle column and see if it matches yours. If your copy is a XR Di, you scored a major, super duper buy. That is a great shot that you posted. How do I use the macro on this lens? Google Viscaya museum, Miami, Fl. A beautiful place.
You asked about aVivitar with serial # 77xxxxxx. See link below. I have a 28-85/3.5-4.5....a nice lens and well built. http://www.thomasgood.com/?p=1201 |

Thanks Dewman. I like heavy saturation which I bumped up in Fastsone on the first pic. I like the Tamron a lot, haven't used it much lately. It does say Macro. I plan to visit Viscaya here in Miami and will take it with me and post a few in the Tammy Club(which I have never visited). Is yours a model 371D? Bought it on EB over a year ago for $56.00, I'll PM you when I post in the Tammy Club. BTW, that was a great buy.

Here's a couple with a MC Cosmicar 28/2.8. Not too shabby. What do you think? The EXIF will show 30mm as the focal length. That's my way of remembering that this lens was used as I have other lens with 28..

I've been all over the forum looking for info on this lens. Just picked on up...in the mail to me. Hopefully mine will do as well as yours. Cheers. ---------- Post added 09-05-14 at 06:50 PM ----------
So sorry to hear that your $5 buy is a bummer. That's how it goes sometimes. A Cosmicar A 28/2.8 is on it's way. Keeping my fingers/toes crossed. I also have a Sears. I pulled it apart to try and fix the fix the focusing. The ring turns without doing it's job. So far, I can't figure out how the plastic ring grip the metal focus ring underneath the plastic part. Maybe someone here have ideas. ---------- Post added 09-05-14 at 07:03 PM ---------- You really love the 28's
