Thanks Hans and jva,
A 40th anniversary only comes around once and having a sibling living at the bottom of the first image helps a lot!

I've been frustrated with my focusing skills with the Q and a group of m42 Takumars, so much so that I'd parked the Q for awhile (time out). Today I took the Q on the am hike with the 02 attached. As we pulled in the driveway, a pristine Swallowtail was circling the butterfly bush. Got these two before it sailed over the house plus a view of the heat and humidity hiking.

Thanks Tom,
The bunny was done with tripod but without the remote and I'm sure that affected the focus. Still working on a support for 135 SMC Takumar and 135 Mamiya Sekor and the Q.

Lots of Lightroom to get this somewhat presentable. M42 Vivitar 250 mm 4.5 from the early 1970's.

While shooting the breeze with our Subaru Service manager and lead service technician (WRX nut) we got into the usual megapixel discussion about cell phone vs. camera and sensors, blah, blah, blah. I went to the car pulled out the Q(and K-01) and went through a couple of the menu options for the Q, pulled the 02 off and showed him the sensor and then went to the poster option and shot a simple chair. Both were amazed at the simplicity and the cost. It's as much fun showing the capabilities as the shooting, especially for car fans. Nothing special, just a teachable moment.

Copper, pans, and noise. SMC 135/3.5/Q. Bought the lens new in 1971 and already used it more with the Q than the Spotmatic II. (1/20 sec.,iso 2500. f5.6)

Firebird, Bechtler Museum Charlotte, NC and some ceiling "art" at my brother's restaurant. Interestingly, while it's ok to shoot the art, security warns you if you turn 90 degrees to take in any of the surrounding buildings. Primarily banks. Must be Qenvy.

Probably not as much as decades ago. Google scrapple and see what those folks north of Virginia eat, and in New England with maple syrup. There's no accounting for "taste", or lack of it, anywhere when food is concerned. But then again, many of my former eighth grade students, for years, considered Skittles a nutritious breakfast.

Thanks Hans. The m42 adapter and lens length/weight combination make for a reasonably balanced package that feels very comfortable in hand.

First shot with Q and amazon $5 fotodiox m42 adapter. Handheld through glass door and wearing trifocals SMC 135/3.5. I knew this lens would come in handy some day. I bought it new 42 years ago. I'll work on focus and tripod and see how the sharpness progresses.
