Agree Vanya, though the ‘19 version was taken later in the afternoon. I’ll try again at one year exactly wth the KP. This area of NW North Carolina and SW Virginia is filled with grand examples of abandoned family homesteads. I spoke to a third generation hardware store owner yesterday who described the mass migration of Ashe County folks during the Great Depression to Akron, Ohio to work for Firestone and never returned. His family homestead is now unoccupied but still a working 300 acre farm.
Just did a 20x30 of the original for a stone surrounded inset and the client was very happy.

Congratulations! There are many ways of try to make the most interesting images possible. A classic from my instructor fifty years ago, compose, compose, and compose with your feet.
If you’re using an editing program, leave some room for distortion adjustment.
A Circular Polarizing lens and a Neutral Density lens really help shooting into the sun for enhanced starburst effect and high glare situations.
If you’re shooting manual, experiment with underexposing a few stops to deepen colors and effects.
Finally, ask all the talented folks here on the forum. They’ve posted some incredible images over the years.

Thanks Bruce, Gaudi, Barcelona, and his designs are intertwined and truly amazing. The 15 is well suited for the architecture and especially, the furniture, carving, ceramic, and metalwork.

Thanks all for the different riffs on this image. I'll add a little background from the editor of our local weekly newspaper in response to using this image.
"The home was a beautiful example of Queen Anne architecture. On of the most noteworthy homes in the county in the early 20th century. It belonged to W.R. Gentry, wealthy owner of a saw mill, grist mill, furniture and coffin shop. Not sure when or why it was allowed to go downhill. It looked dilapidated when I first came here in 1983, but I believe it was occupied then. It is currently part of a 109 acre tract owned by a couple that I believe is used to graze cattle. The old home's tax value is appraised at $200."
Before I retired, one of my favorites book/film combinations I taught was Daniel Wallace's "Big Fish." Tim Burton's film imagination of some of the old period southern mansions (US) is a direct reflection of these homes. The more ornate versions tended to be towards the coastline and further south where trade and wealth were more prevalent.

Right, twenty two hours difference and bland sun until the moment I reached the fence boundary. Then the sun appeared with the streaks. ---------- Post added 5th Mar 2018 at 06:16 PM ----------
Go for it. It might approximate the appearance when built circa 1900. The rust on the tin is much more vivid than in reality. First HDR for me.
