Thanks. I knew there were some links/threads related to holding the camera steady but until I actually was out in the field I did not realize how much more difficult it was than using the 50-135. Need to practice more to be comfortable with it.

Rented the DA* 300mm to see what it was like to shoot with a long lens... It was hard at first to figure out how to steady the lens and it was too shady for the most part, leading to need for high ISO. It was a very different experience as my longest lens was only upto 135. Lovely lens, wish it was not so expensive, but I can see why it would be...
