It would help for sure, but how comfortable are you shooting with your existing equipment (18-135 and 50/f1.8)? The only caution I would make is to ensure that the Sigma lens works well with your camera (with no FF/BF issues etc.) since you may not have enough time to test it out. Since the wedding is mainly outdoor, you may have less worry about indoor lighting and flash (may be a good thing for you as you may not have enough confidence to do it properly). Although outdoor events are mostly good with sufficient light, but sometimes high contrast could be challenging as well, make sure you use the lens hood (even on the 50mm lens).
So it's all system go.... good luck!! AND enjoy the fun part (you are in for a ride with all the actions). :D

+1, 16-50 is good enough for most shots since the OP only has one camera. Another point about the flash, if possible, get the II version (I think 360 is good enough), the front LED is extremely useful in getting those well balanced shots.

I was a little hesitant to respond when I saw the equipment in your original post. I would say it is going to be a bit more challenging to get the shots especially in non-ideal lighting conditions. Wedding photography is more than just camera and techniques, it requires careful planning, coaching, preparation and also, more importantly, post processing. Many of the suggestions by varies posters are very good points; I would just add "go with your strength and avoid (if you can) your weakness".
I am not sure if I agree with the statement that "you may not enjoy the day".... On the contrary, I think you will enjoy much more as you will be involved so much that you will be exhausted once it's finished.
