Nice ones Jean , it gets harder to take candid shots with Short FL lenses as they get older , 300mm does the trick . they grow up so fast so make the most of it while you can :)

Pity about the A600 had as similar one from one of the Russian states it was an A 15mm / 3.5 when i received it some one had butchered it to a canon mount , they wanted the lens back before i would get my money back , i was a bit worried but turned out OK in the end ,she said she did not know it was modified . If you want a particular lens post it in the wanted dept and the good folks here will let you know if they see one even if no one wants to see one or you can PM me and i will keep an eye out if you like ,i always keep check on prices , and just to see if there's a better copy than what i have at a reasonable price , Looking at you gear list seems you have most situations covered , not sure how the K500 /4.5 compares to the 600 /5..6 but i woulds think there fairly similar . and if you put a 1.4x convertor on it that makes it a 700/5.6, Will that lens take the A1.4L or use your Tamron converter ,

Just checking out the specs on the K lens as compared to the A ,the Min focus Distance on the K is to far away for my liking 10 meters on the 500 and 8 meters on the 400 . the A400/5.6 is only 2.8 quite a bit of difference .

I do agree with you just collecting for the sake of collecting is not what my lenses are for , This is my hobby and I do use most of the lenses some time or other and i also have no hesitation to bring some lenses to a Pentax outing for others to try out , I never thought i would have all the prime A lenses but i just keep an eye out for them over the years and if the price was in my price limit i was will to pay i would buy it , I could not have brought some of these if not for the generous help of the members of this forum , who either sold me the lens at a sensible price ( Thanks Steve ) or told me about lenses ( thank everyone ) or helped me buy them (Thanks Dave ) . That Said I also see these as an Investment and good value for money i could sell these for more than i paid for them , not many New lenses you buy can say that , I do agree you dont need all these lenses i had this collection for mant years and was quite happy with them photo below , When Pentax failed to bring out or announce a FF camera a lot of lenses came onto the market which i had never seen before at a reasonable price , which got my interest in longer lenses which i always wanted and never thought i would be able to afford, you can get any lens at the right price if you patient and keep a constant look out . I do hope to get a lot more use out of them when i retire which was may aim anyway . I also have most of the A Zooms as well as they are cheap to buy and also great value for money , these i brought to complete my A lens set not because i need them ,but i do use them on occasion when i am in the mood not to have to change primes

I all the A use my lenses on FF camera and the K511s and don't see any difference in having FA lenses same FL as the A series , I also have DA lenses for my K511s camera when i want AF
I dont know what you mean by tasco telescope the A 1200 is a proper FF camera lens , i brought it to use it on small birds but have not had the time to use it as much as i was hoping to but the time will come in the future .

You dont need what i have and i Know i may never be able to use them to their full potential , Its about the photographer not the equipment ,i have seen so many great photos in the forum with modest cost lenses

if your not into long lenses that this is all you need and this is what i had for many years ,Cheers Frank

HI Mike ,like most of us i have had some since the 80's but only found out about 4-5 years ago that i could use them on DLSR as well , so most of what you see i acquired over the past 4 years , i stayed with the A series because of the A setting so you could adjust all the settings with the camera and all the metering works the best as well , never liked stopped down metering , FA where to over priced for me and most of the time you do need AF in some situations it helps but with what i shoot i prefer manual as AF usually pick what i don't want to shoot
