Quote from Jack Gibson: "Waiting for the Sharks to win the comp is like waiting for Harold Holt to come home" :)
They certainly are a frustrating team to follow!
But the frustration will make a premiership all the sweeter when (or if) it comes!

The database also reflects the price of a couple of these that were in less than "ideal" condition (particularly one that looks like it had been taken to with a brick!
Note that I am open to offers, as I need to sell this lens (I have already bought a Sigma 70-200 f2.8, and cannot afford both). I like the flexibility and 1 stop advantage of the 70-200, but I can already see I'm going to miss the superior image quality of the A* 300mm!

Any lens can take a decent photo in good light, with a stationary subject. But it is in less than ideal conditions that a lens like this shows its worth! Here is a photo I took last week at a night football game (Sharks vs Raiders). The lighting is less than ideal, the subject is moving (walking around the ground for a lap of honour - go Noddy!) and it is handheld (after a couple of beers and lots of adrenaline, cheering the Sharks home!).

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
A* 300mm f/4 Asking Price
US$650 (or best offer) Item Description
This lens is an absolute gem!
9.3 out of 10 - https://www.pentaxforums.com/lensreviews/showproduct.php?product=115&cat=28
It's quality is on par with the much more expensive DA* 300mm - superb optics that blow 70-300mm consumer glass away! And it's fast! PRO's
Better suited to full frame
Much smaller (only 850g)
Much cheaper
Still has auto Aperture controls
Built in hood
Combines well with a TC (expecially the Pentax F 1.7) CON's
Manual focus (which I use for most tele's anyway)
No tripod mount (though it's so compact, I never needed one)
Not as impressive looking (because it's so small, you won't stand out in a crowd!)
This lens is in excellent condition - well cared for. Look at the photo's below. Included
A* 300mm f/4 lens
