I picked up an identical M.O.G. Orestegor a few weeks ago, cheap and in need of a clean. It's a stunning lens, the pictures are superb. But be very wary of oily blades, that was the big problem with mine and adjusting the aperture a bit quick dislodged two blades, and they are a fiddle to get back in place without wrecking them. The oil was the problem, I should have cleaned it sooner. Thankfully it's OK again.

when my old K10 died I did a lot of research, I had a list of other alternatives, I had the cash from a job to buy more or less whatever I wanted. But I bought another K10, It does exactly what I expect of it.

In the last few weeks I think I've got......

2 Spotmatic's
Takumars, 50 & 28
Soligor 55-135
Tamron SP70-220
Tamron SP 300
Dollonds 200 ( early Sigma)
Vivitar 28
Vivitar 90-230
Meyer-Optik Gorlitz Orestegor 200
Yet another Zenit with Helios 44-2
Pentacon 135
Minolta Rokkor 35-70, the f3.5 Macro
Rokkor 100
Konica A4 ( classic compact camera, everyone should have one )
And probably some stuff I've forgot. :hmm:

I need to sell some stuff, I really do.

PS, I forgot the Pentax K, the 1969 K not the newer one, with the fabulous Asahi Auto Takumar 55 / 1.8 and a Novoflex pistol grip 240 / 4.5. I thought the Novoflex would be some crappy toy thing, but I was wrong - it's a great lens.

Top tip, the boxes for the Cokin filters are crap, if you carry them around they WILL scratch the filters across the middle. I have thrown a dozen or so away in the past.
Now I cut a bit of paper twice the size of the filter, fold it and just put the filter between the fold and in the box. It's all it needs. It's such a stupid design, and they have been like it forever.

Maybe this ? the Pentax S1a. Another recent find in the charity shops, and a superb camera.

That's a very nice picture of a nice old camera. That lens is good, and it takes a good photographer to use a good lens.
