well the 10 here in Ontario comes in at 81.95 Canadian and the Lore at 199.75 Canadian - Quarter Cask is 91.95, Select is 69.95 and 25 year is 659.95 , you are shopping the wrong store apparently

I haven't either. I have seen 1 full serve station I pass daily (and rumour has it there is another in the city ;) ) oddly it was cheaper than the self serve i passed this am , i may start using it if that continues

wind levels not so bad here but weather is alover. got to 10c yesterday, started raining last night hasn't stopped, temperature now plummeting so rush hour will have first ice pellets then snow then by time it stops supposedly 15-25 cm snow , then the thaw starts again on sunday with overnight freezes to keep that sidewalk ice fresh ;)

my attacks were frequent so getting the gallbladder out was the logical solution (there must be a genetic aspect. My dad had his out . I was 13 , we lived in the country. He took me with me on the 400 to drive to his hospital appointment in case he had an attack. he did, I ended up driving his brand new 73 Monte Carlo to the hospital on hwy 400. up to that point, all my driving had been a beater bug i owned with three friends we bombed around fields in . the hwy was quite different ;) - ours was like this except a white landau roof instead of black and white leather interior

Gall Bladder pain is brutal. had mine out in 2019. first real attack I thought I was having a heart attack. initially, they gave me T3 to manage attack pain, but when I went for follow up the surgeon wouldn't prescribe them (opioids) . so stupid they work. and if I wanted to abuse Opioids I could literally have found pretty much anything i want within a short walk from hospital row over to Kensington market, i was hardly asking for heroin or fentanyl. T3 is a pretty low dose but effective opiod . in emergency they had given me morphine

My first Xmas on the sales floor at the T Eaton Co my dept was stuck with a stuffed talking bear (Teddy Ruxpin.) by the time it was down to the last one all the sales people piched in bought it , gave it the last cigarette (it was 84) and covered it in lighter fluid and sent it on it's merry way in the parking lot. , it talked right to the bloody end

this will hopefully one day be very useful. In several areas we have been eying up for retirement properties an olive tree or ten on the property is not unusual.

As we have to log in to the server via a secure login no personal equipment is allowed. I would much rather be working on my new Macbook than the Lenovo I have, but I cannot complain it is still a more than an adequate laptop for my workflow at the job, no need for mindbending rendering capabilities at work (the mac I bought with an eye to a longer life than usual it way exceeds the ability to deal with anything I have thrown at it right now - M1Max 64GB with 2 TB SSD )

It is crazy how that works, when I started where I am we had no IT person, the director of finance just outsourced it on a really low budget, and the building was filled with computers just like that - 7 years, a new Director of Finance and 3 IT people later and there is nothing in the complex that old or bad, in fact the pandemic put decent laptops in most hands so they could work from home. we are still stuck with copiers the previous director signed a ridiculous long lease on 2 months before he left (speculation is there was a retirement backhander from the copier guy ...

I have had various and sundry phones, until i left the industry they all came free from service providers (from a monster original Motorola flip in 1996 that i had 3 batteries to make it through the workday lol, to my final free one a blackberry. I have had 1 apple phone (stolen) 1 sony (horrible but cheap) and the last 2 have been Samsung (the current one is an s20 ultra.) my current job is paying the phone bill but I had to provide the phone. fair enough the bill adds up fast . Computers my first was in the 80s with dual 5.25 floppies and a green screen, before hard drives. spent over three decades using windows machines (and still do since my work one is windows) but I made the jump to Appl with a fully tricked out new macbook Pro , i should have switched years ago

but it was sunny I bet. the Argument my sister makes for moving to Winnipeg in winter is the number of days with clear blue skies (apparently has close to if not the most winter sun in Canada.... it goes hand in hand with being one of the 5 coldest cities on the planet apparently - -21c is just another normal day, not the exceptional ones. She hasn't convinced me (though we have some good friends planning to move there this year and the housing prices are excellent for a large city so you never know If we bank enough equity it is winter in Mexico or India time

I would like to leave now but I made the commitment to implement a new piece of software and get everyone trained and have everything smooth operationally along with training my replacement (currently my receiver, he is a bit introverted perhaps to be a good purchaser (really just the flip side of sales where I started - the skills are remarkably similar) . since the final approvals for the capital software spend are still in process I don't see us getting started much before my 62nd birthday this summer so I will probably ride it out to 65 and hope there isn't a housing crash that kills the retirement plans (we can ride it out in the city but the equity freed up would provide for many luxuries like winters in mexico)

Weirdly last night we watched some youtube clips from Rocky horror (not knowing he had died i just reliving our youths I guess, we both saw it before the whole audience participation craziness started)

These were the last two clips we watched (the second Mrs Eddie said she would play the song at my funeral --- a weird synchronicity thing this am)

At the moment Techniques is more Mrs Eddie's domain. my strength is pastry more than bread since I made pastries for a coffee shop for a while. the owner trained as a pastry chef so he trained me in his menu which applies in many products. I got good at pâte levée feuilletée (croissant dough and used for Danishes as well) and making biscotti and some puff pastry items and brioche-based items. Pie pastry was always a specialty (basically I learned my mothers which was a good flaky one)
my early bread attempts are still in use as paving stones

from experience, all albums sound better with the tone controls set flat and using a good set of speakers the 4311's were pretty popular at that time in studios so likely were used for the master. they had a great design for enar field listening. so not the best recommendation for a large room sit on the sofa listening, but if you were sitting close in a bedroom with them hooked up to your Marantz 2220B receiver they sounded amazing (my roommate at boarding school had that exact setup with a Thorens TD125 turntable. everything sounded fantastic on that setup in our small room. It was an education in what good gear could sound like when properly setup that served me well working with bands in the 70s and then selling audio systems in the 80s. I am still very fussy about the setup but realistically cannot hear the fine details I once could thank to decades standing near speaker walls at live shows

those look fantastic. We just started baking sourdough. We bake 1 at a time and use our Staub pot as a vessel they come out a little darker (though our bread is unbleached organic bread flour so it looks a little more whole wheat colour anyway) next loaf being baked tomorrow i will get a shot

yesterday was sourdough day here, next loaf will get started tonight for Thursday bake

I was looking at various Airbnb up by you today, definitely more affordable than anything closer to Toronto, and a shorter somewhat drive than the Tremblant area (which has really jumped in price since March 2020 as well) it is a toss-up we may fly west and spend some time at my sisters overlooking Saltspring island from her dock (lots of dark skies there as well - though the tripod will put me into an overweight category. Won't be in winter though. no vacation for me while we are locked down again because my receiver is laid off. the longer this keeps going on the more weeks of vacation I will accumulate. long enough and I will retire early :)
