I find the latest LR is pretty good now (older Lr was not so hot) there are a few converters that do well though, I just like trying to stick to one.

The XE2 is faster focusing than the XE1 and the XT1 is very good (and accurate) is weather sealed but yeah i get it (the one thing i worry about when out with the XE2 is weather - even with the XT1 since the lenses aren't sealed (at least not the primes and I own them all save the 14)
Shutter speed will come with the firmware update in December (taking the XT to 1/32000) but comes with a bit of rolling shutter issue apparently
One thing I've found is there is no perfect camera
If i hadn't gone the route i did with the insurance money on Fuji my kit would likely have had the limited primes the 24-70 and 70-200 Tamron and a K50 and K3 - and would have set me back a little more money . My wife hates the weight though so part of the change was for that reason (and I truly love the XE2 functionally and the XT1 is very LX like
I miss the SR functionality but using 1.2 and 1.4 lenses makes up for a couple of stops all on it's own and the iso 6400 on the Xt is as good as 800 was on my K7 (on par with a K5/3 I think)

When I shot a lot of music (I do it far less now) I only ever saw 1 other guy shooting Pentax in the pit (and only at rockabilly shows, first time he was still shooting film)
I'm shooting mostly with My Fuji XE2 now (bought with Insurance money from stolen Pentax kit) I was on the verge of getting the K3 and lenses but I really wanted a change and the Fuji just hit the sweet spot of everything I tried. I'll likely upgrade the Pentax at some point for longer lenses and zooms but the fuji primes are really nice for now. I thought about change in the past due to low light issues as well. Guys I know shooting Canon and Nikon always seemed well ahead on performance, now thee canon guys see the K5iis and K3 performance and wonder why they would buy that 7d ;)

I loved the AE it was a very good camera - though I liked the A1 better who didn't ;) in manual focus days I think they all had some pretty special cameras (Oly had the fantastic OM series, Minolta SRT were pretty nice, Pentax well too many but for me KX/MX/LX and DMD are tough to beat. Nikon F/F2/F3/FE all amazing.....even the entry level cameras like the spotmatic were good enough for pro work (lots of spotmatics littered around Vietnam I'll bet - used to be a guy here who shot with one for the army)

I went to Pentax from the AE because I hated the new EF stuff in part (and the fact that they abandoned all the users with all the legacy glass - long term that was probably a good move on their part as it allowed them to focus wholly on building an AF system

First time it was a Zenit then I went to a spotmatic, then i ventued off to nikon, then canon, and came back to pentax when the canon was stolen (23 or so years back - the same idea (a theft) has allowed me to move at least partially to Fuji (I still have Pentax and am using a tak on the Fuji right now) I will likely by another Pentax body as well, there are things I get from pentax I don't get from Fuji (and vice versa)
to be realistic the only brand that really doesn't work for me is Canon, the ergonomics are the worst (Not a huge sony fan either) Nikon would be where i'd be if I hadn't gone to pentax 23 years back (the shop I worked at carried Pentax and not nikon.....boom done deal glad i chose that over the Minolta Maxuum 9000)

I liked the OMD I tried but it wasn't as good as a K3 would be and missed the magic of the Fuji, I grabbed the fuji kit as an alternate system. I'll grab a good deal at some point on an upgraded pentax body (and maybe a couple more lenses 50,70 and a tamron 28-75 &70-200 2.8 pair for events)
