Very nice mike. Great colors too. The fade from yellow/orange to deep violet/blue is quite effective.

Please don't take this the wrong way, I love the pictures you've taken. They are very well composed and are of beautiful subjects. But if you are trying to get better, I have a little constructive criticism for you. Find a good graduated neutral density filter and use it to darken the sky in situations like the two Grand Hotel pics from Florence and the one from the Florence rooftop. The two from the hotel are a little dark in the foreground, but the sky is perfect. The one from the rooftop, the sky is over exposed and the foreground is perfect. Using a graduated neutral density filter with the dark side up will help even out the exposure issue between the sky and ground. You can also tweek the exposure issue in post processing after the fact, but many find it easier to use the filter. Again, just a pointer. I love what you are doing and I can't wait to see more.

Here's a shot from a burnt out old historic building I'm in the process or restoring. Attachment 101765
As you can tell, we are in the very early stages in the process of restoring it.

That's a beautiful shot of a whole lot of nothing. And I don't mean that in a bad way. I lived on the prairie for a year when I was younger and I actually miss it quite a bit sometimes.

I figuresd it's about time to join the club. I've had the 10-20mm f4-5.6 for some time, but haven't used it for much other then boring job pics. I took this today while on a job site taking some more boring shots. I was standing at the fence and turned around to see this cow sniffing me through the fence. I think I was about 8" to 12 off his nose with this shot. Got the whole cow, nose to tail from just a few inches. Gotta love 10mm. Attachment 88686 |
