A couple more from the Sigma DC 17-70mm 2.8-4.5. Same burned out building as before. Attachment 103977 Attachment 103976
Here's a picture of the progress from a week ago. That's a 10x10 used to replace the 6x8 that used to be there. I guess when you take into account that the old beams had 100+ growth rings in them, and the new beams that are twice the size only have 30 to 40 rings, this new beam might be as strong as the old ones. Just goes to show the "quality" of the lumber we get today. Attachment 103983 |

That's a very cute little boy you have. I sometimes wish mine was still that age.

I'm glad you like them.
Ya, it's never a good thing when a historic structure burns, but then again, it's more work for me and my company. Luckily there are people like me in the world that respect the historic significance or these old buildings and are willing to do what it takes to put them back together in a period appropriate manner. Ok, enough propaganda. I have tons more pics from this building, but most are more "documentary" type and had little or no compositional thought put into them. Some might yet yield a nice crop though. If time allows I'll go through them and post any other good ones.

I thought I would take the oportunity to introduce my new baby girl. Since this was taken with a Sigma 17-70, it's going up on the Sigma Lens Club.
