Holy crap, today I got to see not one, not two, but 14 LEICAS in person. They were so beautiful and felt so amazing... maybe I can convince the parents to get me one as a graduation gift...
What I did end up getting was a Starblitz 3600DM and Minolta 2800 AF for $5 each for some off-camera work.

Got a beautiful Canon FTb last weekend and finally brought some batteries for it today. Shutter sounds good, light meter works, even the mirror foam doesn't seem like in bad condition, and it is spotless; someone really took nice care of it. For $20 I got the body, Canon 50 1.4, Canon 200 4, & three Vivitar 283 flashes w/ extra accessories. Then I also picked up a minty Tokina SD 80-200 2.8 for the Canon for $50.

I have an M42 Yashica Yashinon DX 50 1.4; nice lens, but same issue regarding a protruding rear element hitting the camera mirror at infinity.
Having a mirrorless camera fixes the issue, though. ;)

Acquisition related, I've got a Super Tak 300mm f/4, Tak 17 f/4, Vivitar 135 2.8, Macro Bellows, & an istD (and some other small things) coming my way later this week.
Excited!

I got a good ole K1000 body (with a bag of some junky lenses and flashes) for free the other day... well, it was a "thank you" for cleaning up and checking some of my father's friend's old camera gear and helping him sell it online.
Seems to work nicely; light meter even had a fresh battery installed. The only problem is that it smells like smoke...
Well, I loaded it up with some Arista 400 B/W and I'm good to go! Pentax K1000 by ptaxlmtd, on Flickr

Congrats. :)
I have the DA* 55 1.4 and it is a great lens. I can't speak for the Sigma as I've never owned one... true that the Sigma is cheaper, but the only reason I went with the DA* was that I got it as an "Open Box" item for the price of a new Sigma 50 1.4 HSN ($449), so I just thought it was a no-brainer to just go ahead and get the DA* which is normally a good $200+ than the Sigma.

Well, after not having brought a lens since September (not counting the DA 40 XS that came with K-01), I broke down and brought not one, but two lenses plus a cam.
The FA 100-300 was what I wanted, I could honestly care less about the PZ-70 and 35-80. I was just really happy that everything was is spotless condition, not even a speck of dust to be seen in the lenses and it doesn't look like anyone has ever worn the neck-strap.
For $50 and a 10 minute drive, I don't think I did that bad. :) resize by ptaxlmtd, on Flickr

I got a brand new sealed package of Polaroid Type 55 4x5 b/w film... I don't have a 4x5 camera, nor do I plan on getting one, but for $3.99, I couldn't just leave it there...
Apparently, people want $75-100 for a pack of these on fleabay. :D
Thanks to Goodwill workers who don't know what they're pricing!

Speaking of computers... my laptop is giving me a message, "Consider replacing your battery. There is a problem with your battery, so your computer may shut down suddenly."
I'm just surprised that it has held up this well; I've had it for 2.5 years used at least 5 or so hours a day.
I think I know what my next latest acquisition will be... Original Gateway NV53A51U NV53A52u NV53A63U NV53A71U 6 Cell Battery 7803 | eBay |

I took a little road trip this morning and on the way home there were 3 Goodwill stores and of course, I had to check them all out. :D
I found a Canonet G-III QL17 for $4.99. Condition looks perfect and the light meter works too.

Vivitar 55mm 2.8 1:1 Macro (in Minolta MD though...).
$25, but after discounts came out to about $16.
Looks mint except for some light stray dust specks, with case, original caps, plus an extra OEM Minolta lens hood that must have come from some other lens.
:)
Was considering picking up one of these... anyone have experience with an adapter like this or a similar one?
I understand that infinity won't work, but it is a macro lens so why not use it just for macro? I already have a Pentax A 50 2.8, but that's only 1:2 macro. http://www.ebay.com/itm/No-Glass-Minolta-MD-MC-Lens-to-PENTAX-PK-Mount-Adapt...item3cbfaa965e |

Well, I'm assuming it is easier to clean if it is up in front rather than in one of the rear elements. Still, you did well for $50; good luck cleaning it. :)

I saw that auction but decided not to bid... hope you get the lens in decent usable condition- if it is, that would be an amazing price. :)

$1372 worth of gear from Ritz Camera- it was the last three days before they closed their doors, got it all for $400 after tax. :D
None of it is for Pentax, though... well, except for the dusty K1000 Magic Lanterns guide book that I found for $0.43!

It came today and thank God, the 2.8 is indeed constant. Was a little scared for a second there!

I think I saw one of these listed in the marketplace a few days ago; it was the first time I'd ever heard of the lens.
Do you have any samples somewhere that you've taken with it? Looks like a beast of a lens!
Enjoy your new DA* 55.
It and the DA* 50-135 are my two favorite/most used lenses. :)

I haven't read about it not being a constant 2.8 anywhere... I know there was an earlier M version, but this one that I bought is an A version; described as very good/excellent, and the price was pretty decent.

I feel like I splurged a bit too much $$$ today... Pentax A 50 2.8 Macro and Tokina 80-200 2.8 MF. If only fleabay didn't exist, I wouldn't be so tempted... :D
I've also got a K-30 coming, should be here early next week- at least I'm not the one who had to pay for it!

I picked up a brand new Olympus E-420 with kit lens from Walmart this weekend. They must've discovered it in the back somewhere because the original price was $399 and a fresh new clearance sticker was just put on it that day - $110! :)
