I can see why!
Welcome to the other side of the looking glass. Imo it is one of the best lenses in the Pentax lineup and one of the most versatile too, it is by far my most used lens.

Thank you...they are from an exhibit at the Smithsonian museum in DC. Your recent 21mm image reminds me of a poster for a science fiction movie...very nice. Perhaps its an escalator for a subway or an airport terminal?
Nice...making me reconsider my current 40mm ltd listing in the marketplace.

Great mood for the B&W treatment and I too like how they turned out although these color shots are nice as well...and thanks for the heads up on that thread I'm going to enjoy looking back through all those.
Here are a few more from our weekend camping trip.

Cool...I remember these photos. I really liked that tree silhouette then and I still really like it now...the colors and how they transition make for a great capture. BTW you still have that 21mm ltd? I find I don't use mine as much as my others but for some reason I can't bear to part with it.

I see so when you do handheld panos you are in some mode other than manual... great tip. Yeah I can see your level of activity may require you leaving any unnecessary weight behind... for me its just general morning hikes and such but still good to know about handheld technique for more impromptu stuff. Thanks Matt!

Thanks for the advice. I used a tripod (got a compact travel style so I wouldn't have any excuses :)) and after metering set the camera to manual mode with the appropriate shutter speed and aperture settings. But what exactly do you mean by locking focus? I'm thinking focusing prior to setting to manual? In this situation infinity worked fine but I can see where taking a pano of closer up stuff would be useful.
I plan on and want to incorporate vertical shots as you mentioned and already utilize the overlap technique but with regard to handhelds... so you never fully release the shutter button once you begin? Is that to minimize shake and keep everything going in one smooth motion?

Very nice as usual, especially the second...I really like how that field of wildflowers and slope launch my eyes right up into that deep blue sky.
Yep we'll be picking our first okra tomorrow and the flowers just keep popping out. The bitter melon is starting to fruit as well but I'm not sure how long they take to mature. We also have some Thai hot chile plants too and numerous varieties of herbs. Not too bad for a small patio garden :)

Haha right you are! That's why that thought found no fertile ground. :)
Another great lens....sweet long exposures on those two. BTW I finally got a tripod (delivered today!) and its a travel size so I am looking forward to experimenting with more lengthy exposures as well.:)

@dadipentak thank you for your gracious input. You know...not that long ago I briefly toyed with the notion of letting this fantastic piece of glass go once I obtained a DA 100mm macro. I am so glad I got that thought out of my head quick enough. Bok Tower Gardens is a very unique place brought into existence in the early 20th century by an equally unique immigrant from the Netherlands.

Thanks for your input! You're doing great things with that filter...especially that second one with the tree. Having seen some members using that filter to great effect I am ready to pick one up for myself (as well as a nice portable tripod), would you suggest that the MRC version of this filter is worth the ~$20 premium or will the single coating version suffice?
Some photos I took at Bay Pines National Cemetery in the morning...was a somber and humbling experience.
