Beautiful images of a handsome, healthy-looking fox. The fox in my area commonly look emaciated.

Perhaps it's an older animal. As you can see the keepers are attentive to feeding them. Fresh hay, leaves, grass etc. put out every morning.

VAV the new Oly 150~600mm. It may be made by Sigma but as best I can see from a quick look at the lens formula it is a new optical design, not one of the two Sigma FF models with a MFT mount.

Olympus OM-10. Very shallow DOF rendered the stem in focus, but not the closer underside of the cap. Notice the smaller mushroom to the left whose growth has been stiffed by the big mushroom.

Outstanding insect photography, excellent detail. The Raynox units almost make dedicated macro lenses obsolete, or at least an unjustifiable expense. That fact hasn't kept me from owning several of the best macro lenses.

The view of the camera you posted, which I had not seen, makes it more obvious that the black textured button on the back is indeed a joystick control for repositioning the focus point. Really glad they kept that feature. However, I'm not at all tempted to set aside my G9 for the newer model. My favorite camera at the moment is an Oly EM5 m3. I also like my Pany GX8 because of the tilt-up viewfinder, but tilting precludes using the hot shoe = bad design. Both the Oly EM5 m3 and the Pany GX8 have one (for me) major design flaw. The cable release socket is directly above the point where the screen articulates, so swinging our the screen and tilting it interferes with the cable release, or put it the other way, the cable release is in the way when you swing and tilt the screen. The G9 has the cable release at the hand grip end of the body, so the cable release and swivel/tilt screen don't interfere with each other.

UNCERTAINTY: The G9 has a red "joystick" thumb-operated knob for positioning the focus point. I like it better than using the 4-way ring. On the 9II there's a black textured button at the spot where the joystick focus point mover is located. on the original G9 I presume this is the same joystick control, but I cannot see a confirming statement in the specifications.

Also, the new G9II is alleged to have phase AF and a new 25mp sensor. I think that the main feature of the new version of the 100~400mm is a redesigned rear mount that will permit use of a TC, probably the 1.4X intended for the 200mm f2.8. It's also supposed to provide a maximum 1:2 repro-ratio, but I suspect this will only be with the TC attached. The current model 100~400mm focuses down to a 1:4 ratio. There is no indication that the newer lens will have an improved optical formula

Ambush bug taken years ago.(Pany GX8)
Added as an afterthought: I forgot to mention water striders as probably the commonly seen of the predatory hemipterans. Just like ambush bugs and assassin bugs the first pair of legs fold back mantis-like to catch and hold prey while the piercing, straw-like mouth parts are inserted. That leaves the two pair of long, slender back legs for skating on the water surface. The "foot" of each leg dimples the water surface such that in very in shallow water there are four shadow spots cast on the bottom.

That's an ambush bug. They wait on a flower until some other insect comes along, then grab, kill and eat them. When viewed close up they look like something out of a sci-fi movie, a monster from another planet. They are one of the diversified and extremely interesting insects in the group called Hemiptera or "true bugs." that includes shield bugs, stink bugs, assassin bugs, giant water bug, back swimmer, etc. I can never resist adding another picture of one.

But I find it easier to type "Olympus" or better still, just "Oly" and any MFT user knows exactly who made it.

Straight OOC, one of my first images with an Olympus 90mm f.3.5 macro. I'm not sure that it's quite as sharp as my Zeiss 100mm f2 Milvus, but it's much lighter, balances better on a tripod, goes to higher magnification, fine bokeh and it's much easier to use. A small loss of IQ is worth these advantages, and the IQ is still excellent.

Interesting that it's a rare bird for you. Here in MessyChewBits white-breasted nuthatches are reliable, regular visitors to any bird-feeder, whether loose seeds or a suet block. The red-breasted nuthatch, smaller and a little more colorful, are not nearly as common.
