To fiddle with focus points does not suit my style of shooting at all. Having to wait a few seconds for the SR to lock in is bad enough. I just snap shots of views and things that look interesting, without any planning.
Just about all of my 'film era' lenses were fungus infested or seized up specimens I'd got for next to nothing on eBay. I'm always amazed that after taking them to bits and rebuilding them they still focus on anything ...

PD AF forces you to center your subject, unless you habitually centre focus and recompose as I tend to do. Rules are meant to be broken ;)
