Thank you.
Next Picture from that day is a bit trash, I like it nonetheless...
Picture links to blog, where you can compare it to a black-and-white version. I'm not quite sure which version I prefer...
Picture is a bit soft. Low light, long exposure, weak hands. I definitely have to get some artificial light... Or a faster lens. Or both. ;-)

In the 80s, a lot af saab advertisements showed the cars in bad weather. Dark, grey, cloudy skys, wet roads, bad driving conditions. And on the road: the Saab. As if they said: There is no such thing as bad weather - only bad cars.
And, yes, compared to other contemporary cars, a classic Saab 99 or 900 handles extremely well. So why not drive your classic car today - as it was meant to?
Besides, there is no bad weather - only bad cameras. Hanging out of the window of a car at highway speed in a typical Eifel downpour - and nota single second did I worry about my gear. Thank, you, Pentax, for the k200.
Note by the editor: pictures link to my blog - with more pictures from this shooting. Enjoy!

Ok, I see another reason for the k-5...
With my k200, I have missed so many shots...

The kit lens is ridicilously sharp, but, unfortunately, also ridiculously slow. This does not only refer to aperture, but to autofocus as well, especially in low-light situations.

1988 520i with 75.000km on the clock. Two owners, the second bought the car in 1989.
No dents, no oil leaks, no rust, no nothing. Drives like new, except for the clutch, which is completely dead.
Female driver in the city, need I say more?
Clicking the picture links you to the story... it's in german, hope you don't mind (and google helps).

1. Yes!
2. Or would have had a very hard time trying.

Some weeks ago i had a not-so-bright idea:
Yes: modern da-lens on a chemical camera.
No, it should not work...
But that did not stop me from trying:
All pictures taken on the short end (18mm). "Sensor" was a Kodak Elitechrome 200 slide film, whose colours I really like.

Of course!
But it will take some time, I'm afraid. While I can develop b&w myself, I am several hundred km from home and thus have to give the film to a lab...
I do not expect too much: the evening before, I did some available light shooting in a small, rather dark bar. Rollei states their r3 can be pushed up to ASA 3200, so I tried 1600 for a start... Mounted the digital kit lens the next day to get the film done.
Am I right to assume the lens will close aperture to the absolute minimum opening? Shutter speeds seemed to sound quite reasonable, and ASA 1600 in broad daylight should not go to well with wide open apertures?
Then, I don't know yet, if the lab even does push-processing. If they do, I will have to wait until next week. And consumer scans tend to be quite ugly. Plus, it'S ASA 1600... so please don't expect to much.

Yes, there is vignetting on the short end.
Yes, there is no way to control aperture.
But that's no reason why it you should not make any pictures, right?
