I took this a week ago. The nearly full moon was out giving the sky a nice blue tone and illuminating the foreground. I took 134 pictures with the 17-50mm at f2.8, 30 seconds, iso 400 and stacked them. I also spent a very long time removing all the plane trails. I want to try this shot again since it's a little out of focus. It might be better to shoot at f4.

Great pictures. One of the reasons I bought the 17-50 f2.8 is for pictures of the night sky. There's too much light pollution for me to get shots like that around here though. If I were you I would have cloned out the plane trail in the first one.

Have you tried stacking filters with a ND for example?

I'm about to buy a CPL for my Tamron 17-50. I am wondering if vignetting is an issue and if I need to buy a slim filter?
