Tougefc, something about the beach group pictures' lighting makes them look like they were shot indoors against some picture background. A nice light as such, but somehow not very natural looking in this setting.

How do you guys find the 36Mpix picture post processing? I tried a D800 raw image that was available from another forum and found that even processing one single picture made my Mac Mini with 4 GB of RAM, OS X Lion and Aperture 3 drop to its knees. Unusable really. So I think that buying a camera such as a D800 would force me to upgrade a lot of computer gear as well.
(I know this thread is mostly about pictures, but the thread title does mention thoughts as well...)

DWB, while I like your photos, I especially admire how you manage to get your girlfriend/wife/victim to pose so patiently. Mine refuses in general to be photographed at all, not to mention doing that frequently.

Wow, that 35mm sure has a busy bokeh! Almost mirror lens like donuts.

Peter, could you please stop posting pictures like these. You're risking my personal finances.

Many Mac users prefer LR actually. But Aperture costs today relatively speaking peanuts if bought from the Mac App Store, while LR is significantly more expensive provided you do not qualify for some academic discount or have no desire to use "heavily discounted" software.
