That expains why the 70mm didn't want to work for me. maybe would have with some space or tubes installed.
I'd like to try my 31 reversed, so maybe I'll look into the 52 adapter and some step rings, or just some step rings for the 49 adapter.

Thanks Roentarre.
I didn't really get much processing. I simply desaturated it, then applied solarize in PSCS2. Added the frames by extending the background. :)

I don't know, but if it is like the 70mm it will be hard to use since there isn't an aperature ring. Although, you may be able to hold the aperature open.

I know, David, Thank you. It was your post that prompted me to order the reversing ring with my 43mm lens. I'm glad I did, as it adds an additional element to the lens to increase the potential locked inside.
I'm having fun, but wish I had the 77 to try. What sort of spacer are you using with it?
Thanks again,
Greg

Thanks. I got my adapter from B&H Photo when I ordered the lens. It is just black aluminum and no frills. Seems to work well though.
I tried the 70 da ltd using my finger to manually open the aperature, but it wouldn't work. I don't understand why it wouldn't work though, but I just never could get it to focus on anything when reversed.
I would loved to have tried the 31 ltd also, but didn't have a 58mm reversing adapter, not to mention the spacers needed for the hood.
Cheers.
Greg
PS - i never realized how beat up my watch had gotten from wear and tear until seeing this picture. :O

Wasn't sure if this should go here or in the photo section, but wanted to share my first attempt at using the 43 reversed on the k10d. This was about the hardest thing I've done with the K10d yet. Shot with on board flash, and aperature set to f11 I think. Shutter was 1/180. Think ISO was 100.
Best I can tell, when reversed the lens focus does pretty much nothing. You simply use the aperature ring and moving back and forth to focus and control light.
First example, and hope you enjoy. Sorry for the boring test subject but was all I had available to use at the time. Any C&C welcome. |
