...and chateaus (chateauer). Unlike modern concrete, steel and glass buildings people flock to to take pictures of. "...are worth taking the time to learn their history..."
And when you do it puts things you are looking at in a different light. It may even help you fame a picture differently, more meaningful and then you are on the way to become a better photographer - a cut above the others who just look and click. I am thinking of the trillions of smartphone pictures people take, mostly selfies with a landmark motive as background. Sort of chewing gum for the eyes.
Thanks for the comment Tony

I agree. :lol::lol::lol:
Just kidding, Janse.
My Scottish aunt used to say, and it sounded something like this in her thick accent: “Selfprayse is nay onnah”

Pictures like these are often a bit more of interest to those who have been there, I feel.

Carcassonne is a destination anybody should seriously consider entering in their bucke tlist.
Start off at the city of Toulouse and hop on the train for a 45min ride to Carcassonne city. From there take a short taxi ride up to the medieval citadel, La Cité, a double-walled fortifications first built in Gallo-Roman times. You can walk the remparts right around the city. Best time to enjoy the place is late in the afternoon and after sundown when most of the tourists who came by the busloads have gone. You can stay overnight inside the walled city which will allow you to come and go as you wish. I can recommend Hotel de la Cité
You will fly most likely into Toulouse which is worthy a stay, at least a couple of nights which will allow you to see the old city. Most importantly though, have a guided tour of Toulouse's Airbus factory where the planes are being build. I promise you will enjoy this, particularly if you are a passionate plane-spotter.
