My first outing with the K-5 and Sigma 100-300 F4/w 1.4 TC.These are Dusky Canadian Geese. There may have been as many as 2-3000 birds at the site.
I will need a lot of practice to attain what many of you on this forum have accomplished.
Thanks for the inspiration.

I have been using Pentax DSLR's since 2006, and I am looking for a reasonable way to go long. I see I can buy a Nikon D300 for less than $600.00 and the Tamron 200-500mm for $950.00. add a tamron tc and you have a 420-700mm lens. i know that I won't get the best IQ from this combo, however the D300 and and the Tamron lens are less than the Bigma and a whole lot less than a long prime. If Tamron made this lens in the Pentax mount I would jump on it. My main reason for trying this combo is that if I am lousy at taking telephoto shots then I can sell the camera and lens for only a small loss. Any thoughts from the knowledgeable people on this forum?
