We stayed in Ilwaco, WA for a couple of days and while we were hiking around I heard a chopper. We went to the North Head lighthouse and saw a Coast Guard chopper practicing with a rescue swimmer. This is with the 18-135mm

Taken with K-5 and DA 55-300mm. 55mm , f6.3 @1/500th
Didn't like it when I took it, however the new processing seems to have helped.
CC welcome.
Thanks,
Joe

Saw quite a few in the distance, but these were close to the dirt road I was on. 18-135mm as I was driving.

This wall gets forty to fifty climbers a day. Very popular spot. Smith Rock State Park in Oregon USA.

Matt,
I've been enjoying your photos for some time, really like your work. I need to do a lot more work before I feel good about my photography. I feel good when I get one good shot in a day, I have really enjoyed the trip to central Oregon. Amazing country, probably not as dramatic as Colorado but a tremendous amount of things to see and do. Only problem is that its aJoe five hour drive between the major geological wonders.

This is a moderately cropped image of some climbers on a roughly 900 ft vertical face at Smith Rock.

Matt,
Left the hotel at 4:30 am and drove 45 miles to arrive at sunrise to get that shot and a few more. I took some the previous afternoon and the were pretty grey and harshly lit. Smith Rock is a pretty interesting place. rated as the third hardest rock climb in the country. I'll look through my pictures and see if i have anything that will show the scale of the wall vs the climbers.
