Of course its been discontinued. Pentax does not maintain more than two product lines. I'm sure that the last K-7 was assembled before the first production K-5 was built. Any K-7's still being sold new are simply cameras that were already in the pipeline.
When the K-7 was introduced, there were still K20D's in stores, but the K20D was out of production when the K-7 began production.
The same is true of the K-x/K-r. Any K-x's in stores are simply left over inventory.
The only exception is the 645D, but that's a very low-volume camera, compared to the K-x and K-5.
OTOH, if you buy a K-7 from a dealer, its still covered by the warranty and its still as good a camera as it ever was. If the K-7 would have been good enough for you a year ago, it might still be now, and its probably a much better deal.
