I like my Simga 28 f/2.8 mini-wide II. It's pretty sharp, colours are nice, the size / handling is good. Focus ring goes only ~180 degrees, but for a 28mm, its good enough, and very smooth.

If I had a 35mm macro, I'd expect that I'd get a lot of use out of it. As a result, my 2 closest are Sigma 28mm f/2.8 mini-wide II and Pentax-M 50mm f/1.4.
When I'm not using those 2, I'm using my DA 18-135mm.

Correct... It has an aperture ring which also has the 'A' setting to allow the body to set the aperture and meter wide open. I typically use TAv mode.

I have the Simga mini-wide II 28mm f/2.8 lens. I like it. It was in mint condition, and only cost me $30.
It will probably be great on an FF, but for me, 28mm on crop is a very useful FL for most walkabout, and many landscapes. Its a bit too narrow for large group pictures, and too wide for many portraits.
This is great for things like flowers, products or and real close-ups. Focus up to ~ 8". It only has 6 blades, so don't expect this to be a bokeh monster.
