To that person's credit, Fuji's are designed to look like an old camera. I like the retro look, but every time I see a picture of a Fuji, it's that retro vibe, like an old Fujica - metal bottom plate, top plate, in silver, gray, or black, leatherette grip, 'prism' hump or rangefinder looking design.

If they wanted to do something different, they could've gone down the path of Pentax, like the K01 or their Instax film cameras, but they didn't.

The event photographer at the concert I was at last night used a K3...I never got a chance to see up close to see what K-model it exactly was, but did see the 'Pentax' on his strap.

I assumed it was a K3 given the top layout, but the published pictures and EXIF data confirmed it. I was guessing from the lens attached, and also the EXIF, the 50-135, but I also see 43mm listed on one of the pictures, so the 43 LTD as well?

Honestly surprised to see another Pentax out in the wild, but the pictures came out well too.

I'm probably going to end up buying a lens (off of craigslist) tomorrow, which is surprising, as it's one of the lenses I've really been wanting, two, the fact that it's a Pentax mount lens (Tamron), and third, it's local.

(Fourth, honestly, I was planning on dumping Pentax, due to them raising their lens prices to crazy levels, but they're still competitive on the bodies, and the last couple lenses I've bought have been used Tamrons). But like some gangster movie, they always keep pulling me back in some way or another.

I've always gotten compliments on my K20D at baseball games though, I was at a game in Oakland last year, and a woman though I was a pro (with my old Tamron 60-300 Adaptall to boot). I lol'd. Most of the time, people say that it's a nice looking camera, most recently last month at a Grizzlies game.

And I will admit, the K20D with the battery grip attached does look like a beast of a camera.

The colored cameras do stand out; I saw someone with a white K-r at Bodie State Park last weekend.

Personally, I wouldn't mind an orange one.

I saw someone sitting a couple rows in front of me at the Fresno Grizzlies game last Saturday, with what looked like a K100D and a 55-300.

I was just really shocked to see another Pentaxian in town.
He definitely got better pics than I did, as I though I packed my 60-300mm Tamron, but alas, only had my 10-20 Sigma and kit lens.

I noticed someone with a K10D or K20 on the ferry back to SF from Sausalito yesterday. Other other cameras that stood out for me, is it looked like another person had a Hasselblad around the Ferry Building, and there was someone using a large format camera in Union Square.
