If "we" covered this, I obviously slept through that class. If it was in this monster thread, I hope I can be excused if I had a little nap while reading a few of the pages:).
I appreciate your insights into how these things are structured, it's something I really don't know much about:).

I thought we covered this... Mitsubishi owns Nikon. If Nikon owned Pentax, by transitivity Mitsubishi would then own Pentax. Mitsubishi would then have a camera they could finally be proud of, and they would of course plaster Mitsubishi all over it.:D

Maybe Nikon hasn't produced a camera that Mitsubishi feels is worthy of the Mitsubishi name:D.

This was exactly the reason I thought of when I read the thread title. Though if I resist another discontinued camera cycle I'm sure I'll be looking at the K-3 when the K-3ii rolls around in a year or two:).
I wish I were surprised at the real reasoning behind this thread, but I've seen enough complaints about the Ricoh name on the back the past few days that I've just come to accept the existence of people with priorities I'll never be able to comprehend.
