IMO the only thing Pentax/Ricoh can do to end-run the big dawgs is nail mobile sharing, since none of them have managed that yet. Every single camera maker is awful at WiFi and sharing (though Nikon may be catching on with the Bluetooth LE stuff). Samsung came closest to being decent, but they're gone. Maybe Ricoh can pick up some of their staff?
Undercutting on price hasn't worked, weatherproofing hasn't worked, making weirdo cameras hasn't worked. Time to try something different.
But then again, maybe getting ahead of Canon/Nikon just isn't Ricoh's goal. There's something to be said for being happy where you are.
