Oh wow wow wow! I did not expect so many wonderful comments!! thank you everyone... it means a lot especially coming from members of the Pentax Forum! We did have a great time and I took a ton of pictures that actually turned out very nice. The right kind of sky helps. My tent was on the water facing east so I was awakened by the rising sun each morning, usually up by 4:30 a.m. and the gorgeous show over by 7 a.m. It really pays to get up early!

I am thinking of printing the last image, but wondered if anyone but me can tell that is a canoe gliding into the sunbeam? I have another with the "v" in the wake water behind the boat, but she is not quite lit up by the sunbeam yet. hmmm...

oh, I should mention how much I enjoy the Pentax-DA 10-17. Just an amazing landscape lens as long as I don't get anything too close to the edge of the frame as the barrel distortion wrecks the photo. Most of the dramatic images were taken with the fish-eye. 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 10

The last two were taken with the Pentax-FA 50mm F1.7 and I can't say enough about that lens. It takes the most awesome sunrise photos and also works wonders with soft or pastel light.

Also, the Tramron 90 2.8 was used for the lily pad shot (my fave too erki!) and the close up of Alex in the yellow canoe. I left out most of the macros I took on the trip as I really wanted to share the landscape.

Again, THANKS!

The girls and I had a great trip into the wilderness. Here are a few of my favourite photos.
