Still trying to figure this one out - some type of Duskywing?

I photographed a tagged Monarch at Presqu'ile Provincial Park a couple of years ago and I responded to the information on the tag - I got a response but it seems that at the time the organization didn't have the infrastructure to actually process the responses. IMGP3388 by Steven, on Flickr
On my last expedition one of the brass contact tags on my 300mm DA* lens came adrift - I (gingerly) bent it back in place without it snapping but somehow the white balance had changed to "bleach bypass". A bit of a change from my usual Monarch shots. _IMG2417 by Steven, on Flickr

It's a Gulf Fritillary - one of my favourites but have to go to the southern US to see it.

That Polyphemus is amazing! I will be taking a UV lamp for our stay up north. Placed against a white cotton sheet or towel it should attract some moths. Hopefully I will have a few to post. I have a good moth book but identifying them is still really hard.

Well done Sylvain - certainly an arresting image that would convey a good deal as part of the exhibit.

Interesting how those "eyes" show up in butterfly wings all over the world -

Clouded Sulphur. It's hard to capture the upper wing surfaces as they close them as soon as they land. I caught this one in mid-flutter. IMGP9683 by Steve, on Flickr IMGP9673 by Steve, on Flickr
