Sharpness & fringing are not things that work in the lenses favour.
I rate everything else about this lens highly. Overall the lens is really great just those two points have room for improvement if they were to make a V2.0. (and maybe AF - but it is not bad for what I shoot)

This one was a touch out of focus, but I was still happy with the end result. - It gives me something to go back and try to get right next time. _IMG1230 by S.Morrison, on Flickr

That is a fun looking little animal!
on from the weekend with my partner
Accidentally shot at ISO800. -on a side note, has anyone had issues with inconsistent focus accuracy with the DA*55? I was getting 50% or less keeper rate on the K-5. _IMG0966 1 by S.Morrison, on Flickr

There is nothing as comfortable or as tough as old leather boots. Some times you just need to let go.

LBA i feel does not quite convey the real NEED for these lenses. ELYN (Essential Lenses You Need) I feel is a much more appropriate acronym for lenses I buy.... Including the 5 different Fast Fifties I have.

ok so after a couple of weeks (or so it seems) waiting for the 55mm to get delivered, it is finally here. Just a couple of quick and dirty shots of my other money vaccume to see how it performs.
Focusing this thing wide open is going to need some more care than this. _IMG0316 by S.Morrison, on Flickr

I have been lurking in this thread for a good year and a half. Today is the day I finally pulled the trigger on my first DA*, the 55mm. This could be an expensive new venture if this DA* gets me hooked there is a whole bunch more lenses to get.

Really nice shot! (the promo shots were great too).
I would have personally cloned out a few spots of white on her top though. Everything else though is brilliant.

I have never seen it before, thus I assumed given its uniform nature and (almost) non-existence in the second shot that it was something you applied in PP.
.. Learn something new every day.

The first one here is very interesting. First i liked the composition so I looked a bit longer, then I liked the colour treatment which kept me looking longer still.... Then I noticed there is some horizontal and vertical grid pattern. I don't know what it is but it works with the image as a whole!
