Two shots with the DA* 50-135 from the last night's Linkin Park concert in Warsaw.

The firts one is a freak shot taken before the lens focused properly:

The other shows the actual scene after focusing :) [shot taken from ca. 1/4 mile or 400 meters away from the scene; heavily cropped]:

the 43 is my primary lens. I use it for about 75-80% of all my shots (partly because I have nothing shorter, and partly because it's the most practical of my lenses - the DA 70 has too long FL to be a comfortable all rounder)

And to avoid off-topic complaints - below two shots with the DA* 50-135 :)

I guess a couple of things:

1) Speed - the DA 70 doesn't go to 1.4
2) Build quality - my DA 70 suffers from quite a bit of wobble
3) Usability - the DA stays in the bag most of the time, as the 50-135 is quite capable of producing satisfying result in this focal range and still has the added bonus of zoom versatility
4) An excuse to part ways with the FA 43 and get an FA 31 :)

Although parting with the DA 70 would be a loss. It gave me my most favourite photo:

Thank you for the comments about the DA 55's bokeh performance. What would be your advice if I was considering to sell my DA 70 to partially finance a purchase of the DA 55?

I thought the exact same thing: bokeh is a bit uneasy and just might draw attention away from the core subject. Judging by other photos here, I believe this is not typical bokeh rendition by the DA*55, is it.

Just wanted to share two random bird shots I took during a recent visit to a zoo.

First up is a swan. It was a magnificent, huge bird strolling slowly behind a low fence, so I could get a good look at it.
[DA* 50-135; 1/200 s; f/ 3.5; ISO 1000]

The other is a bird I do not know. It was small, and did not give me much chance to get a good shot.

Two samples from my DA*50-135. Can't believe the shots came out so sharp...

a yawning lion [ISO 80; f/ 4.5; 1/640s; 135mm]

a smiling camel [ISO 640; f/ 5.0; 1/250s; 135mm]
