I just acquired an old Tamron SP 90mm 1:2.5 Adaptall-2 lens (52B), popped some extension tubes on it, and took it out back with a tripod to see just how well it lived up to its reputation as a sharp macro lens. This is a >1:1 macro of a partially depopulated dandelion. I'd say it's pretty darned good! I need to do a few more experiments with it (I'm expecting to get the matching F01 doubler soon) and I'll post a review of it.
One issue is that the 90mm length is not available on the K-r! So I set it to the closest value, which is 85mm...ugh. That's the K-r's problem though, not the lens'!

Long, long ago I apparently bought a couple Cokin filters and an attachment for them to fit on a 49mm lens filter ring. So I found a lens with a 49mm ring (SMC Pentax-F 50mm 1:1.7), and attached this goofy multi-image (plastic) prism. It's cheap ($20, early 1980s), has horrific CA, and is generally a goofy effect.

Construction in my house; busting out a wall revealed some 101 year old pristine (if dusty) old growth redwood lath and the back of the the stairs to the second floor.

Now that's just gorgeous - both photo and equipment.

Hmmm.... I suppose I can say the same thing about Javier's shot right above, now that I look at it!

I adapted a 77 year old Schneider-Kreuznach 75mm f2.8 lens to fit on my K-r and have been testing the bokeh. Why bokeh? Because the lens has 18 aperture blades resulting in a perfectly circular aperture! See my whole madness here, from disassembling the lens in order to clean it, to adapting it, to the actual test photos. :o

Taken at Ocean Beach last weekend with a newly-acquired Honeywell Pentax H3v, Super-Tak 1:1.4/50 lens, and a roll of Plus-X pan that was way too old to use. And I developed it myself last night (first time I've developed a roll of film since...the mid-90s, when that roll was probably from). I used my grandfather's ancient Weston Master II light meter to meter the shots, too. The best thing I can say is that the exposures were good and the equipment works. Sharpness and grain are way off. ;)

I debated whether to put this here or in the Bokeh thread. This was taken with a Ricoh XR Rikenon 50mm manual lens at f1.7. I was trying to compare it with a Pentax-A SMC 50mm f1.7. I'm not done yet but they're both quite close! This one may be sharper at f1.7. Maybe I'll put the color version in the other thread...
