I don't remember. I do remember that the difference in IQ was mainly caused by the very THICK AA filter of the K-5. Point is, Pentax didnīt put that Sony sensor to better use then Sony themselves. But the opposite is true.

Ummm... Even if that ever really was the case, the recent explosion in quality Sony photographic products proves that they intend to be a serious provider of photographic products. Not just a mere Sensor provider. Eventually their sensor customers will turn into competitors in the photographic market. There already has been much speculation on what will happen by that time.
I've never been able to follow that logic. Common sense would dictate that Sony knows best how to use their own sensors. Even the sensor in the K-5 and the Nex 5n seemed to prove that for a fact. The Nex 5n produces noticably sharper images with better colours.
