They can't all be ready for a 20"x30" framing.. Living in BC (interior) is great for mountains/streams and such.. but it's all what you enjoy shooting too.. I would LOVE to shoot long exposure sea-scapes, sure as hell not going to happen here though!

Great shots guys! Mark Ij I really don't like you.. you've now made me change the want of the 31Ltd to the NEED of the 31Ltd.. I've NEVER seen such fantastic 3D "pop" from images.. do I need to specify "Extra pixie dust" when ordering my 31Ltd?

Well for speed, the DA will win hands down.. the old screw drive tech is simply not up to the electrical motorized units. BUT I know my 43Ltd doesn't hunt that much in low light, and I think the FA77 would do better than the DA70 for this, especially wide open.. as it requires light through the lens to read and adjust the focus.. and the 77 is 1.8 compared to the DA70's 2.8?? or is it 2.4?

Thanks, I'm hoping it all pans out in the long run... sure will be a year with a lot of changes that I didn't see coming. With any Luck I'll still be posting in here.. I think next FA Ltd will be the 77, as I think I'll opt for the Sigma 30 1.4 instead of the 31Ltd.. simply due to cost vs IQ.. both are great.. the Sigma is under 1/2 the cost... but the 77 is really unrivaled.. the Sigma 85 1.4 is more expensive and 77 mm filters are more expensive too. Other than that it's MF ( not a big deal ) or used.. or a Tamron 90mm.. but I want faster than f2.8! Ahh I think that will be a little ways off anyways.. have to wait and see if Pentax picks up the ball and gets in the FF game or if it just lets it slip by again.

No, unfortunately a permanent vacation so for now seeing these silver linings on the current situation is a good thing. In the mean time I'm seriously looking at a Panasonic GH2 for a "backup" down the road.. and a good little cam to hold me over till Pentax releases some stuff. That or a little Canon I can load CHDK on..

Well it looks that I'll be leaving this club pretty soon, my 43Ltd, along with the 18-135 WR (and maybe the K-5) will be escorting my wife out the door in the near future... gonna miss the 43Ltd the most of all those... So the silver lining will now be.. get another K-5, wait for a K-01 or K-3.. Probably wait and see if Pentax is going FF in the near future and wait for it. But at the same token.. could be a good time to just jump ship to someone who does support a FF upgrade path.

Thanks, I usually don't shoot them either.. I think that was the third time I've done it, after awhile it's all just water.. When I can afford to make more of a mess I intend to try other mediums and maybe even grabbing a fish tank and dropping objects. Just water is nice and easy to clean up afterwords.. I tried vegetable oil in the water and it was cool, but left a little more work afterwords.

Shot some water drops the other night with lots of different lenses, here's one from the 43 Ltd + Pentax Close up filter 1.. recovered shot, the remote flash wasn't ready.

AIV = Assembled in Vietnam (with Japanese parts)
MIJ = Made in Japan

Personally I couldn't imagine there being that much difference other than placebo effect of MIJ being superior because it wasn't outsourced.

You didn't simply offer them $600 and $240 for the box when they get it? If not you could have grabbed the SN off it and checked online if it was stolen.. There are a few good sites around like http://www.ifoundyourcamera.net/ and www.camerafound.com

Your the man! A lot of the was news to me, so used to using the old rule of thirds etc.. and wondering why my composition looked lacking, just hopping into Lightroom and messing with a few pics using Diagnal method overlay sure works!

Yeah but part of the FA Ltd's is their "One of a kind" focal length that no one else has.. That being said I could see it coming back as a DFA* 135 f1.8 that would be very sweet!

Awsome Mike! Love how you can see a few working late.. people on the main floor having dinner etc.. Makes me really wish they would have made another Ltd something a bit obscure like an FA 121 f2.2 Ltd

After doing the same with my 43 and then messing with the AF fine tune.. doing the 45 degree shoot at paper is useless.. you need a FLAT surface (proper focusing screen) and the scale needs to be set on a 45 degree angle beside your flat focal point.. who knows EXACTLY where your AF was reading when you took your "test" shot.

I LOVE my 43 for it's sharpness, but I agree on it's focal length.. I find myself often reaching for my Super-Tak 55 f2 or SMC Tak 28 f3.5.. now I've got a 135 f2.8 to play with for the long end of portraiture etc.. really enjoying it! Too bad they didn't make something like a FA 123mm LTD f 2.0 or something oddball in that range! I just need a prime in the 70-90 range and I think I'm well covered.. then it's upgrading the FL's I use most.

I agree, I as well intend to have a FF by the end of next summer. Whichever body, it will have my FA 43 among a few keeper Takumar's and one Adaptall (23B).. and hopefully a 77 and others to show their full capabilities. Just not sure about selling the K-5 as an upgrade fund, or to keep is as a second body, which is already needed.

Well if anything, it shows that good glass is respected and still shows it's brilliant pixie dust abilities regardless of what camera body gets thrown behind it!
What I would LOVE to see, is pics of the same thing etc shot from an APS-C and then FF camera. Even better would be to see the difference shots with all 3 of the FA Ltd.'s! (OK who has the required gear!!).

If you get a FA43, will you even remember you had a DA40? But I also don't have a DA40 to compare with my FA43..
