I would shoot bracketed images and merge them to fix it myself.. as for just PP work, LR4 or CS6 allows you to lighten shadows and blacks.. you could also drop contrast and add some clarity to try to recover definition.. lots to at least try!

So my search begins as to what lens can provide similar optics to the DA 15 Ltd on a Nikon mount.. I would even use a DA 15 Adapted if it had an aperture ring... ahh well..

But of the DA ltd's I think the 15 is fairly uncontested, maybe it's just because it is the widest.. who knows.. but it sure has something about it that sure makes me want one even when I know that technically the 12-24 or a sigma 10-20 would be better for landscape photography.

Question guys.. how well sealed is the DA15? Matt, you've taken yours out in the snow, others have been around water (some IN the water).. I have a DA10-17 and I love it, but I need an aspherical wide option and the DA15 is still very high on my list.

I'd say! I'm was wondering how well the DA 15 stitched images..
I'm also wondering how my DA10-17 FE will (@ 17mm of course.)

Nice shot! I'm guessing that's 5 portrait shots with the 31 Ltd stitched.. not the 77?
Wow.. nm.. thought I was still looking @ the FA Ltd club page!

I hate that feeling when you simply could have shot 1 or 2 more pics to cover those area's better, but didn't!.. Last weekend I shot a 38 shot panoramic, and for the life of Photomerge and myself, I could not get it to piece it together.. I gave it an hour (i7 2600K+ w/16GB RAM). It was SOO frustrating!

I think 3/4 of my panoramics are hand-held, using the 43Ltd and Super-Tak 28/f3.5 usually, with a DA15 it wouldn't take many to shoot 360 degree view

Anyone have the DA12-24 and the DA 15? other than saving money on the filters (I already have 49mm filters) and lens cost.. the only thing I can find choosing the 15 over the 12-24 is size! I would love to end up with both eventually.. but I'm on the fence.. I want to be able to do wide angle portraits on occasion as well.. I've used the 12-24 and enjoyed it, I was just hoping to hear from others who've used both.

I refuse to un-subscribe to this thread but everyone's pictures here are only going to make it hard for my family to eat while I go out and shoot with DA 15ltd... soon...

Amazing shots everyone, I really need to pinch some pennies and get this lens, or possibly the sigma 14mm, but this thread continually shows me how impressive this lens and it's users are.

Oh that game.. the one thats like watching paint dry :D At least football has shorts bursts of motion between guys slapping each others butts. I think the last time I watched a full MLB game was when my family friends were having people over to watch the finals back when the Toronto Blue Jays won the world series.. also.. why do they call it the world series when only north america plays for it.. and only one non USA team at that! Mighty "worldly"...

Wow you paid for those seats? At least the beer is cheaper that far out.. and the bathrooms are closer and probably a lot cleaner. Thats about as close as I'd care to get to an NFL game to watch anything but the cheerleaders. But that is just my north of the 49th parallel opinion. :D

It almost looks like a multi exposure or 2 images merged. That or he was chasing her... she doesn't blur or change size as much so he must be stalking her!
Looking at it again, it looks like its a motion blur effect from Photoshop or another PP program.

For indoors in the evenings I tend to use my FA43 ltd because its so fast, never tried using even my 18-135 at its fastest 3.5, but I think 1600 ISO would sure help, depending on how dark some shots at even upto 3200 can be cleaned up nicely with some noise reducing software.

I agree with this for sure, when you are looking to be creative, you usually have/find/make the time to compose, shoot, recompose, shoot etc.. When your shooting people/kids/ moving objects.. and you want to be able to frame better etc thats where zooms shine. Although you can do some nice zoom/motion blur effects with a zoom you can't with a prime.. unless you have your camera in a car or something.

I agree, being able to compose your shot with the twist of the wrist is much better than moving back and forth.. because sometimes you simply can't! I'm just not sure about loss of IQ. I've not seen too many zooms that surpass a good quality prime in the same focal length. I'm looking at getting a WA or UWA lens soon, so I guess I should start doing some research.. but from the pics seen in here, WOW. The DA 15 sure looks good!
