That's the male, he has an iridescent pink/purple patch on the back of his head, it made the ID easy.

Your shot is very cute, it looks a bit magenta on my uncalibrated work screen.

Eastern bettong, normally nocturnal but this one was one and about in broad daylight. A closer look at the photos revealed it was blind in both eyes.





Swamp Wallaby. This one has an ear tag which means it's part of a trial of contraceptives designed to keep the population manageable by non-lethal means

Spotted this monitor along one of the canals in Thonburi in Bangkok, it was a 1.5 metres long and with a set of don't argue claws

I heard a loud bang on the roof last week, on my way outside to investigate I noticed this guy on the fence contemplating whether to fly down and pick up the now dead small bird that had apparently caused the bang. I had enough time to get the camera and fire off some shots through the (very dirty) window before it flew off.

I'm not sure if it's a collared sparrow hawk or brown goshawk
