Nice shots, both.:)
Before I learned I wasn't supposed to like O.O.F. hexagons, I used to think they were cool.

Not every 6 bladed lens is hexed!

A 100 year old lens on a modern dslr? Fascinating!
Thanks for all the feedback, Aliasant.

So many beautiful pictures! I love the internet.

Vinceloc: striking contrasts and colors. Really nice. Raptors are such regal creatures. What bird is that?

Aliasant, you must live in the tropical region of Sweden.;) Thanks for the comment. The quince shot was taken with my Vivitar 90mm f/2.5 macro (despite the exif data). It's really good at making creamy backgrounds. I like your fruit shot. Can you tell me more about the lens you used and show us some more pictures from it?

Tim

edit: Oops. Now I see. In an earlier post you already discussed this lens and have more pics from it, too. I'm sorry for not paying attention.:o

Better. Shallow depth of field is my favorite part of photography, so I like your photo as is. But, with such a lovely subject, I don't think you could go wrong either way.

Agreed. I like it. I'm learning that bokeh doesn't have to be seamlessly smooth to be appealing. But, I've gotta say, I sure do love that butter!

Anyhow, yes, the Viv 85 seems to be a scarce lens. Made around 1970, I believe. If you haven't seen it, Pentax Forums has a good review here: Vivitar 85mm F/1.8 Pre-set T-mount Lens Reviews - Pentax Third-Party Lens Review Database

As for my picture, we're under a covered porch looking out at some trees. The only light on is the big one in the sky. :) In addition to the dragonflies, there are garden art / wind chime objects hanging around. Here's the same shot @ f/16:

Beautiful, JeffJS. Which lens did you use?

Here's one from my old Vivitar 85 preset @ f/1.8.
