Hi everybody,
I accidentally stumbled onto a website with very, very nice pictures taken with Pentax FA limiteds with various films...
There are some shots with other cameras and lenses as well, but Iīm sure you will notice which lenses have the edge here.. [????] ????? - ?????????? - Nikon CLUB - NC???Nikon Fans????????

Thanks for your comments gents!
Urkeldaedalus, those film shots are very nice, I like that shot of the branches against the wall very much!
I also feel that I can use film along digital for different applications. For me the film shots are always somehow special. Itīs very rewarding when you get good results on film. And itīs not necessarily too expensive when you stop and think about each shot. I spent a weekend in Stockholm and shot 36 pictures on the film, and that was plenty enough. If I had my K200d with me I would have shot at least 200 pictures and spent hours on PP to get the same amount of satisfactory pictures.
I also have a 6x7 Bronica which can only shoot 10 frames per film. Now, that will really force you to think before you press the shutter.. |

Wow Swift! Very nice flower shot!
Hereīs some more portra 400 film shots from Stockholm.
Me Super + FA 31: "Letīs have a break" by Qsilver_, on Flickr

I feel like the Portra 400 has less noise than my K200D on ISO 400... Not bad for a film! :)

Thanks Jonathan and Fikkser, and yes the pictures are from the old town of Stockholm. Itīs a really nice city. :)
And yes, I love the portra colours too, it has easily become my favourite colour film. I just got into medium format as well, with the Bronica GS-1 and canīt wait to shoot some portra on 6x7 size! :)

Picked up another Pentax film body in good condition: The legendary Me Super! Iīm very impressed with this camera, it has very nice viewfinder, itīs very light and small in size so I can take it anywhere with me. Hereīs some shots with portra 400. Lab processed and scanned.
Me Super + FA 43 (a wonderful combination!!!!)

Nice shots Bickrs! Very 3D, I like them a lot.
Hereīs a gritty film shot with my beaten up and ancient K2, armed with FA 31 - The film was Ilford Delta 3200, shot and develop as ASA 1600
The picture was a bit underexposed as I had forgotten to compensate for the filter that was attached to the lens. Anyway, I somehow like the mood of it. :)

Hi twitch,
those film shots are amazing! Love the colour and the bokeh. Did you shoot them wide open?

Thanks, Swede.
I think you posted these two shots already earlier? :) Anyway, they look nice! The film rendering is something unique..
Hereīs one from last summer with FA 77 with film I canīt remember. Nothing special, but itīs just the gritty true-to-life feeling you get from the film that makes ordinary subjects stand out.

Thanks! You are propably right about the anchor picture, there was a small ledge formed from the snow in the foreground which I wanted to take into the picture, too bad itīs barely visible. Itīs very difficult to take pictures with white snow and still keep all the details.
Yes, itīs very cold at the sea side, but Iīm very happy with my K200D which seems to survive even the toughest conditions.

Thanks Swede,
In my opinion, the FA 77 is very sharp wide open and it surely doesnīt lack contrast! I have never shot the Da 70, but I have seen some nice results from it. Still, it doesnīt have the aperture ring and itīs not as fast as the FA 77, also IMO, the size difference is not really that big.
Deadwolfbones has just provided some excellent examples of what the FA77 is capable of when shot wide open... smooth bokeh, very sharp and plenty of contrast!

Well, count me in. The next digital body is surely going to be FF. For the price of the next K-3 or whatever APS-C flagship model is announced next I could easily buy a secondhand FF body and even some lenses for it.
On the other hand, I might just take a deep plunge into the wonderful world of Medium format. I have shot a few rolls with my friends Yashica D and I have to say that Iīm very very impressed! The medium format is something totally different! :)
I might keep my FA limiteds just to shoot film and my K200, and do all the serious work with medium format... Weīll see!

Thanks Colton! Thatīs a very nice picture with the 43. For some reason I also prefer using the 43 on film more than digital. Also on film, I rarely use the 31, except on landscape shots where it really excels. The 77 feels good on both formats and is propably my favourite lens of the FA limiteds.

Hi everybody,
Hereīs some shots with FA limiteds from last summer. All shot on Fuji Superia film and Pentax P30 body. I recently bought another film body, the Pentax K2. Shooting film feels very demanding, but it feels like a breeze of fresh air after spending too many hours in front of the computer going through all those RAW pictures in Lightroom. Photography is fun again! :)
First shot with 31, then 43 and finally 77(crop)
