My latest, the highly regarded "Godzilla sized" Sigma 15~30mm 3.5. I have taken a few pics with it and it seems to really live up to its IQ hype... |

Haha Dave, and when I say bright with the two of them I can probably light up an entire alley up there in Baltimore. And speaking of Baltimore, I may be up around your neck of the woods shooting some industrial stuff soon - I will let you know when, maybe we can meet up for a coffee|beer or something... ;)

Eddie - what do you think of "Beats Audio"? From what I can gather, the driving algorithms behind it address the issue of a true lossless format - have you experimented with it yet?

Lol, poor guy - he went through a lot to describe the issue with the camera body, look up the problem on google, try and fix it, and post the outcome of the issue on the ad - "Pheewwwww" the poor guy says; he didn't realize that no one gave a crap about the camera body. Now every $5 ME body he comes accross he may feel he hit the jackpot - lol

Ya, no one in their right mind :lol:
You should get plenty of usage out of the Kx, really is a great body. As to learning and getting fluid with it there are plenty of people here still shooting with the Kx that will be happy to help out if you have any issues with it :)

So, I purchased off of fleabay a backup lens for my Viv'ee Kiron 70~210 3.5 Macro (the purchased one is a duplicate copy of this gem) which was suppose to be in EXCELLENT condition, we all know that purchasing from a seller that you do not know EXCELLENT in reality could mean FAIR - but under anyone's standards still means works properly. Well guess what, I got Jak'd on this one.
Here is the message I sent (in 2 messages as fleabays message thing sucks really bad only allowing 1000 chars): The lens I purchased is not in EXCELLENT condition as noted in the description - the zoom is stiff and has a grinding feel when moving the zoom barrel up and down. These long Vivitar PP type zooms were designed for super fast "Thumb" operation of the zoom barrel, meaning the slightest movement of the thumb in the up/down direction moves the zoom or changes the focal range +/- with the slightest of pressure. This particular one you need 2 hands to operate it, one hand to firmly grip the camera body while using the other hand (firmly gripping the barrel) to slide the barrel to the wanted focal position.
If you never sold camera equipment before I could understand that this was a mistake -> Reality is you had to of known of the issue as you have sold plenty of camera equipment in the past, also I looked through the pictures of the lens you took and one of the pictures shows the lens engaged in the 70mm focal range while the others show it in the 160~180mm range... [cont. in next message]
/*********************/ [cont. from previous message]
which means you engaged/moved the zoom while taking the pictures - it did not seem odd to you that a precision piece of equipment took an odd amount of pressure (not to mention the grinding feel of the internals when engaing) to operate? Why would you describe an item as EXCELLENT knowing that it has issues?
Arggghhhhhh - hate it when this happens...

Whaaaaaaaattttttttttt? :) Feeling Bad? When I win an auction, I am up in my underwear doing the pelvic thrust like a deranged lunatic with mad cow disease and refreshing the web page in anticipation waiting for a tracking number
Am I the only one? Is this going a little overboard?

If corrosion or rust is the issue, after applying the WD40 or whatever one you use, you may have to tap the lens with a butter knife or other metal object to cause some vibration for the solvent to work its way down into the threads, I am not sure how much vibration you will be able to get though. When we come across a rusty bolt, the quick no haggle removal solution is WD40 soaked for about a minute, beat it with a hammer a couple of times and free it will be - not sure you want to do that on a spotty though :)
