Hello, don't usually post here.
But printing got me interested? What kind of printer are you using?
I would imaging a good landscape photo would look good and benefit from the glow of metallic paper :).

Yeah, there will be a big fat pack on my back already. I do like the travel kit idea. I may get one since I have a package to be sent to me from the states anyway.

This maybe a really kiwi problem. How and what does one carry on a tramp photography-wise?
My current gear is my DSLR (K-5) with a small prime attached (currently a 28mm, used to be a Sigma 10-20mm). This is about all I want to carry. I find that I don't have much energy/time to change lenses on the track. My tramping bag would be about 15kg+ without the photography gears.
The camera currently sits on the top pocket of my tramping bag. This means I miss a lot of shots, because I have to put the bag down, take the camera out, take the shot and then put it back every time! I also haven't found the perfect lens for both landscapes and group/people shots.
I have tried hanging the camera on my neck or in a small bag. Having something hanging and swinging (unprotected) really zaps the energy though.
What do you think? For one, I am considering adding a compact to sit in the pocket or the belt of the tramping bag. I have also heard that there are belt system to carrying a DSLR in. Have anyone tried those?

I have got his books, "The Photographer's Eyes" and "The Photographer's Mind". They are easily the best books for someone like me who wants to improve beyond knowing how to set ISO or f-stop on my camera.
I have only begun reading the first book. Don't spread it around, because they are so good :).

I am in Auckland.
I got my K-5 from e-bay before. I suppose I can keep using the current hood as long as it stays on :/..

Hello all, this is my first time posting in this thread!
I am searching for a lens hood for my Da* 16-50mm, any idea where I may be able to obtain one (in nz)? I bought my K-5 and lens up the mountains this week, and unfortunately broke the lens hood in a fall.. (at least the lens/camera were broken).
Thanks.
