Looks fine, well balanced and I love the fact, that you take care ... the super-duper-x-treme HDR shots are every where and a real ugly pain to watch, I think :)

I donīt think anyone is worried about the Nikon. For this particular thread itīs all about showing/sharing/discussing your great (..or less great) Takumar shots. There is even a Nikon/Canon/etc. section on this forum.
I hope you will post here and enjoy it. As to why, that optical adapter ‘ball‘ didnīt atract a lot of attention (but some hic-up)? Itīs probably because, that here we mostly shoot Pentax. Kind regards

I think, that your D700 blows the reds.
Just joking. Actually your first image taken with the Takumar is fine. Itīs the Sigmas fault
By the way, Iīm a Nikonian as well (besides my Pentax addiction). My first camera was the great Nikon FE2 (got it in `86) and I still have it and use it from time to time.

Your D700 blows the reds! Thatīs what I would be thinking of before I went to more fun places. If you love reds, then consider switching to film. Regards

Hi Rob, great lens and nice, sharp shot. But the colors are way off (natural anyway). The sky is very turquoise. And is that grain or digi-noise? Looks like noise deriving from adding exposure What are your scanner settings? Regards :)

Great shots. I am impressed by the timing of the two shots with water flow. On the first one it is just right to show the speed of the water and still keep the texture, substance of water. On the second one we get a mystery that I am still puzzled by. :) Regards

I just saw this piece of info on the web, that could be interesting to somebody here ;)
Informations about the 135 mm Takumars:
The 1:3,5 Super Takumarwas changed in 1965 from 5 lenses in 4 groups to 4 lenses in 4 groups. The product No. which is on the backside of the Man./Auto lever before was 43540, after the change it was 43541.
After introduction of the Multi Coating in 1971 the No. of the Super Multi Coated TAKUMAR was 43542.
The first version of 1:2,5/135 Super Takumar had the No. 43802 and has 5 lenses in 4 groups.
This version exists also as Super Multi Coated TAKUMAR (43802). But in 1972 it was improved with 6 lenses in 6 groups and had the No. 43812. This should have the best performance.

I am not being kind. I am being frank. Clearly, you have lots of talent. You might not feel that you have ample experience and tecnique. But you do. An important point for an artist, is to separate working with ones art (the creation of the artefacts) and handling it, promoting it, selling it etc. Make sure you have allies, agents who will take care of these things for you, people who, for their own reasons, admire your work and will handle it with respect and care. Be carefull about this. You are ready. Just go! (Later you will be weaker than you are now) Regards
Ps. Here is a shot I took the other night at a local bar in the harbour. It is not a very good photo (tecnically anyway), but I need to post it here to make a point. The two old boys are renowned, famous painters and graphic artist even internationally. And they are both still strugling, even if they are deeply, experienced professionals. This ‘cosy conversation was about one being envious on the other (the more famed), wanting him to see and comment on some of his work etc. (they are both my friends and I was hanging out with them, thatīs how I know). The point is: Donīt wait! It wonīt get any easier, than it is now. And it is never easy. The matured thing, is all about MODUS: How you do your thing! The way you feel, when you do it and, what makes ‘it happen. |
