First time out to play very briefly with a new toy - an Irix 15/2.4. Big learning curve to assimilate soon and post in Darktable 3.2 ... I had to shoot very quickly since we are in confinement. I was out getting bread via the bicycle and had little time for the round trip to downtown.

K-1 + a SMC A 100/2.8 Macro ... I am testing this A lens that I got as a "junk" acquisition. It was partially locked up and someone had already opened it, so the "A" button/knob was missing, along with other bits. I repaired the block focus linkage/travel and de-clicked the aperture ring to make it operable. Here, probably wide open then at about f/2.8 ...

Yesterday we went to the "Vallée des Singes" (Valley of the Monkeys), a free-range type zoo and I tired out a Rikenon 50/2 that had been stocked up in the attic. Actually I have two and never really thought that this lens would be average at best until I read the reviews here on PF. Quite happy with this first-time outing and the last image is a tire swing where I added a Pentax n°1 extension tube.

K-1 + Soligor MC 100/2 wide open ... this is an OM mount lens, but I "converted" it to PK via the shortest possible Chinese extension tube that I had on-hand. Since I am locked-down, I am learning Darkroom 3 and playing about in it. Adobe has still lost a customer.

Still goofing about for the Spring regional photo expo theme ... "seen from the ground" or "scene of the ground". Here the SMC Tak Fish-eye 17/4 placed on the ground and an approximate aim ... really did not use the tilt screen. All taken in Poitiers.

K-1 + SMC M 20/4 @ f/8 in hyper focal ...

Last Thursday there was a protest march in Poitiers against the reforms to the retirement reforms. The protest march passed in front of the courthouse and the attorneys in their trail robes were there to participate. Here are a few images that I took for an upcoming photo club exhibition this Spring. The theme is "view from the ground" or "view of the ground" ... it's a play on words.

K-1 + Tamron 70-200/2.8 cropped and converted in Lr4.4. (shot @ f/4, 1/200, 2500 ISO) ... x-post from B&W thread.

I shot some theater images for their website ... good deal since I take a few picks and get to see a play free in exchange. Many of the members of our photo club are doing this on a rotating basis ... learning a bit here and there about this type of lighting situation, etc.

Thanks a lot for your post ... I had forgotten all about this and my Fuji X experiences made me think of trying everything out on the K-1.

Hi, thanks for your post. Good idea for the recessed mount thought, and I was maybe going to try that as well sometime.

I am currently experimenting with different applications of "apertures" ... the fastest and easiest is to stick a paper hole reinforcement sticker to the back of the rear element. I black it out with a black permanent marker. I also bought a small hole punch and have made a hole in a piece of black electrical tape.

These two applications work well on the Fuji X system, but my first impression for the K-1 is that this restricts a lot of light to the sensor. With the smallest hole application, one is approaching "pin-hole" territory IMHO.

I has also installed a "diaphragm" disk inside a 18/2.8 for the Fuji X-E2. The idea was to hopefully increase sharpness and DoF. I still need to take it out for a spin on the X.

Just FYI - the Pentax-110 18/2.8 and 24/2.8 are almost useless with this first adapter. Maximum focal distances of 2 to 3 inches. But, maybe a recessed throat adapter would help here ...

Here's the 24mm on the K-1 and an image ... it's the 24's lens cap and the mount screws of a 110 camera that I dissembled for better understanding of its configuration.

Experimenting with Pentax-110 film lens ... on Fuji X mount (which works great), but also on the full frame K-1. I home-made an "adapter" by crudely cutting a hole in a black plastic flexible K-mount body cap.

The 18/2.8 and 24/2.8 will cover the FF sensor but maximum focus distance is null. Maybe 2" for the 18mm and maybe 3" for the 24mm.

But the 50/2.8 will maximum focus at about 12" and this was shot wide open, since there is no aperture present on the Pentax-110 film lenses. It's in the camera body ...

Just a first very quick try in my kitchen with a flower bouquet ... more and better images once I find a good moment.

Thanks and "yes" the Soligor/Spiratone 20mm is not easy to find.

I have seen only a couple in K-mount on eBay in France/Europe and I purchased mine off the PF Marketplace a few years back.

My "quilt study" efforts with a slide projection lens ... this is what you do when you are rained in at an arts & crafts fair.

Leitz Hektor 8.5cm f/2.5 mounted in a de-glassed and half body of a Helios 44-2 lens ... basically it's a M42 helicoid and this will focus to infinity. Here at MFD and wide open, since there is no aperture ;)
