A few more items recently acquired. Off of French eBay and for 29€ delivered (25 + 4), a very nice last model Voigtlander Brillant with case and accessories. I have been on the watch for a decent priced Voigtlander Superb, but no luck yet ... except that I can across this "brillant" Brillant that was being sold by an antique shop.
Also, from the bottom of the junk camera bin at the thrift store and for 1€ a working but bit worn looking Olympus mju II ... I am running a roll through it now for the fun. Just needed a new battery. |

Fuji had a 200€ rebate promo in France, so I bit for a new X-T3 body from my local B&M store. Lots of fun and yesterday I took it on our day trip to Chambord Castle, which is a two-hour drive north from Poitiers. Here are a few images taken with my home-made pan/hyper focal Pentax-110 Auto lens ... as is seen on X-T3 body. Some old thrift stores scores just cataloged for my "archives" ...
For 3€, a very nice Rada medium format film back in its box with papers ... 6x9, 6x6, & 645 formats
For 3€, a dead, locked up Yashica FX-1 that maybe I can save later ... the lens is AOK ...
For 0.50€ each, a Jobo tank (without spire) and a "book" for 6x6 negatives ... mostly flower images ... could not resist this one ...
For 1€, an Alpa case ... when I saw it on the shelf, I was hoping that there would be a camera in it, but nope ... win some, loose some. Ha! |

Latest thrift store score ... a Canon A-1 with a FDn 24/2.8 & FDn 50/1.8 for 20€. The A-1 body was locked up as well as the 24 which was a quick fix. Neither had been used in ages ... I lubed and "massaged" the A-1 body and it seems to work AOK now. Here pictured after repairs and a good cleaning off of years of dust. |

One of my latest thrift store finds for 10€ (written on the latch) ... a Minolta bag with a working (but a bit cosmetically challenged) SR-T 101. Along with a 50/1.7, a 28/3.5 and a 135/2.8 in excellent condition plus some filters. |

These two showed up in the window of my local B&M store, so I bit ... but passed on an old non-AI Nikkor 28 and a slow Nikon 400mm telephoto.
A Micro Nikkor 55/3.5 AI in pretty nice cosmetic shape and excellent optics for 35€ ... and a like-new Nikkor 105/2.5 AI for 75€. More than I like to pay usually, but I wanted them for the FE .... and I like to support from time to time my B&M store. The 105 was a good deal. |

My thrift store opened up last week and I picked up a few goodies. Here both working with new batteries and both came with cases : a Yashica 35 ME and a Minolta Hi-matic AF ... both for 5€ each.
And the best was later in the week for 1€, a working Penatx PC 35 AF ... the battery door falls off but I use a bit of electrical tape to fix that. Running a tets roll through it now.

A more serious acquisition that I could not resist as the lockdown was just about to hit ... for 170€ delivered and off the French "Le Bon Coin" site, a second copy SMC K 50/1.2. I kind of bought it for a Pentax friend, but if he passes on it then I will just keep it around for a while ... a little sunshine might be needed. |

Three weeks of "lockdown" accomplished and kind of forgot about these ... stickers, stickers, stickers.
Out of Germany and via fleabay ... really wanted the big Pentax stickers, but splurged for/added the others since the postage was already paid. |

On the right, a nearly new in the box Krokus 69 enlarger with a Nikkor 50/4 lens, plus filters, trays, paper, tongs, bottle, and bulbs ... all for 30€ purchased in Poitiers via "Le Bon Coin" site. I also purchased a mint Canon AE-1 Program with a FD 50/1.8 plus case for 20€ from the same person. I will post the Canon later.
Here, my new Krokus 69 (again on the right) is in my photo club's darkroom. I was looking for parts for the Krokus 69 in the middle of this image. It was donated to the club last month and I repaired it plus cleaned it up a lot ... it was stored in a barn with a Krokus 44 enlarger (also donated) which is just a pile of parts, unfortunately.
I was looking for missing/replacement parts for the club's Krokus 69 ... a missing filter support tray and a broken glass plane in negative holder. So, I stumbled upon the my Krokus 69 ... now I can fabricate a filter tray for the club and replace the broken glass because there's an extra piece with my Krokus.
The silver Krokus 69 on the left is mine and loaned to the club while I paint and finish my home darkroom.
Here's some more images of our darkroom ... there's a seperate small room for total darkness film loading, etc. |

A few more recent thrift store finds ... two like-new Canons for 2€ each. They just needed batteries ... the AF 35M II is pretty nice.
And also for 2€ a boxed with papers Minolta FS-E III, but there are badly corroded batteries which have swollen inside the compartment. Does not look that good for a fix and I was going maybe too fast ... grabbed it and really did not inspect this one closely enough. Win some, loose some. |

Yeah, thanks. And I will spiff the lens up a bit before the annual photo swap meet at Montamisé (north Poitiers). I usually use an old wore-out toothbrush and a humid baby butt wipe ... that combo seems to get a lot of the crap off ... :p

A quite rare digital score from my thrift store last Friday ... even more so in that the battery was charged and it had an empty 1Go SD card. A nice working Nikon D50 with a Tamron AF 24-135 (190D) plus a Samsonite bag in good shape.
There was no price marked and good ol' Gilbert was very perplexed, so I gently suggested "sept" to him ... and the deal was done. Now I have a "trader DSLR" with only 7 euros in it for the Poitiers camera swap meet at the beginning of April. |

I recently did the firmware update/upgrade on my X-E2 ... it's now a completely different and better camera. It's my understanding that the changes were so much that a new(er) owner's manual was also issued with this v4 firmware which I have downloaded.
I now have new functions, such as better AF zones, face recognition, better (IMHO) EVF info, etc. ... gotta hand it to Fuji ... but on the downside, this really pushed back my "body upgrade" plans for an X-E3 ... now going to sit it out for another generation or so. Cheers, J

As marked on the top, 7€ for a nice, working Kodak Retinette f with an Angénieux 45/3.5 from my thrift store. I am a sucker for anything marked "Angénieux" ... this was from last week and I did well there yesterday. Images to come soon. |

Yes, I agree that the X100V seems very, very nice and the price point is outrageous (for me, for what you get).
I kind of bought the X100s to get "that bug" out of my system and to see if it is really for me. I have a Fuji friend with the X100F and I really like it after a short loan shoot. If I get another Fuji, it will probably be the X-T30 and the 23 will be on the short list, too.
At this moment my oldest daughter (18) is in love with the X100s and I cannot seem to pry it out of her hands. Cheers, J

Last Sunday was the photo swap meet at Aulnay, about 90 minutes south. I picked a very nice Tamron AD-2 24/2.8 with a Nikon AI mount for 30€. I sold awhile back the same lens and regretted it, so here's a nice priced replacement. Also found for 20€ a M39 mount Russian Jupiter-12 (35/2.8) in excellent shape. Very happy since this lens was on my short list for a while. I have already bought a 35mm viewfinder out of Russia and will take all for a spin on the IIIf.
Also picked up a darkroom light for 5€ ... boxed and shown with its twin.
Plus some freebie straps ... the Nikons are for a friend and the Pentax one is mine. |

Mid-January was my B-day, so I got these ... the paper was from my mother-in-law (I told her what to send me) and the second is a b-day gift from me to me, a Fujifilm X100s. An early afternoon eBay bid winner for 366€ delivered from Lille, France. There were only 2 bidders with the starting price at 350€. All is AOK, but a bit rough cosmetically. It came with 8 batteries of which 2 are OEM. The hood just arrived and was added on along with the strap and thumb rest. |
