Jack, thanks for your reply. It seems to work that way, did some testing with various settings from the thumbwheel on the camera. I'll keep using it and see what happens!

Question on the Sigma 28mm F1.8 Ex DG Aspherical Macro:
Reading the instructions that come with it, it's a little confusing. I'm hoping someone can unhose me.
Under the section "Setting the Exposure Mode" it says for Pentax AF/MF:
"When you use the Program exposure mode or Shutter speed priority auto mode, turn the Diaphragm ring on the lens to the smallest F-sto (ilie largest number), then set to the "A" position while pressing the auto lock button. When you use the Aperture priority auto mode or Manual expsure mode, turn the Diaphragm ring away from the "A" setting while pressing the auto lock button, and set the Diaphragm ring value by turnin the ring."
So, does this mean if my camera (K-r) is in manual mode, setting the F-stop with the thumbwheel does NOT change the lens' aperture?
Do I need to set both appropriately, on the camera body with the thumb wheel and with the Diaphragm ring on the lens?
Sorry for the dumb question, but the guide leaves a lot to be desired. Love the lens so far, just want to make sure I'm using it right (and not abusing it).
Thanks for anyone who can help.
