Another idea: photograph what you love. Your enthusiasm for it can inspire you to create great images. What are your hobbies? Cooking -try food photography. Sports -try shooting some action. Machinery -try creating macro images of the machines you love.
If you have any hobbies, interests, or objects you cherish, they can be just the spark you need. And remember, technique isn't always the most important thing...it is more important in this type of image to present the world as only you in particular see it. That includes the things and people that are part of your daily experience. Here are a couple of my images:
The first image is just some M&M's -I wanted to try shooting the shapes and colors to test my new M50 f1.4. The second is a macro photo of a clock a roommate of mine had sitting on our bookshelf. It was something I saw every day. The dust was part of the experience, I suppose. At any rate, these are images only I would have made, because they were products of my imagination as applied to things I was interested in.
