Looking to replace my 18-55 with somthing much better.

I've gone through my fair share of standard zooms and I've found that the two best were:
Tamron's 17-50 for sharpness and flare
The DA* 16-50 for build, handling, "pixie dust"
In the end, i stuck with the Tamron for is superior technical IQ in studio.
