First things first, I am 25 years old.
I never owned a dslr until last year, and I only dabbled here and there with an SLR in highschool.
I'm a photo enthusiast and pursued taking pictures to capture moments and people's portrait photos with my phone camera and cheap compact digital cameras.
Last year, my interest in photography has hiked to a serious level, and wanted to buy a DSLR so bad. Hence, I started doing research for the "best" camera.
I looked up Canon and Nikon, of course. Without much research, I would have gone with a cheap Canon Rebel series. But then I started doing more research and found Pentax.
I never knew Pentax made a DSLR because I thought Pentax have perished in the digital era. I never knew Pentax DSLR has been heavily shadowed by CanNikon.
But once I've looked up the images produced by camera candidates, Rebel xti vs. K-x, the choice was clear.
I don't think I'll ditch Pentax anytime soon.

Being the minority in the camera world might be giving some of us the false sense of superiority.
I simply chose Pentax over other brand was because They "looked" and specifications looked better at the price I bought.
Now that I've been using Pentax for a bit, I am developing the false sense of superiority over CaNikon sheeps.
Just like how I look down upon iPhones since I have an Android Phone.
What have I become!?

Having Pentax is feeding my hipster ego so much.

I always carry my K1000 in my bag.
It's always fun to find out that most folks with DLSR can't use it.

A few months ago, I was at Anime Expo, an Anime Convention happening in Los Angeles Convention Center every 4th of July weekend.
The event is filled with people who dress up as certain characters from Anime, Games, Comics, etc. and TONS of photographers taking pictures of them.
Every year, more than 40,000 people attend to this convention.
Suffice to say, I didn't get to meet another Pentaxian. Just a sea of Canikon users.
Kinda made me feel lonely.
Also, some Canon user was snickering at my DA40 and saying that tiny lens and tiny body can't produce great images.
I don't know much about Canon lenses, but I was sure he was using kit zoom and was using built in pop-up flash.
